I know that the 360 never will be a second Wii even with Natal.

Nintendo has the family friendly image since ever. To create an image costs time money and its difficult.

Btw Natal doesnt look to me very promising at the moment.

Xbox 360 has to get more exclusives and a slim that would make it selling more.

Xbox needs more Alan Wake and Gears of War, Halo reach together with a slim more reliabilty and lower price. That would make it sell more.

360 needs more casual games. The hardcore crowd that aren't fans of fps will probably pick ps3 over 360 since they are the same price and ps3 has more good exclusives. Reach will give it a boost for month, a pricecut and slim model will be great for a few months to a year, but ultimately xbox needs to become more appealing to casuals with its game lineup if it wants to see big growth. I think that is what they will try to do with their next system. Making a very reliable slim will help as well, since 360's image was greatly tarnished due to the rrod fiasco.

Yet to see any games for Natal that will push hardware
Reach will not move much hardware - Halo 3 did that
Slim would have a decent effect

I reckon MS is basically putting nearly all it's eggs in one basket with Natal. That could make or break them.

Natal has the potential to raise the long term demand for the Xbox 360. The others are merely short term blips at best.

well i think price cut and slim will do a bump in the us.

but others and japan are a lost cause, especially if GT5 hits this year.

natal, have to work first, if microsoft doesn't deliver what they presented will be seen a turf trying to be a king.

I diasagree others are a lost cause. 360 could still hold onto the UK and I'm not sure what the sales are in each individual nation like Australia and France for example.

How did the PS3 resurrected ? Price cut. Same thing for the X360.

I'm not sure about the success of Natal...

Natal will definitely have a novelty effect.
... but probally more for existing owners.

(you can't picture yourself as a gaming machine for blood thirsty half brain dead kids and then expect to sell much to scoccer moms...)
