Retailer listing suggests new Treyarch game is not coming to Nintendo's console.

April 30, 2010 - Noticeably absent from retailer GameStop's online pre-order listing is a Wii version of the newly announced Call of Duty: Black Ops. GameStop only lists the game for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Unlike Infinity Ward's Call of Duty projects, Treyarch has traditionally released a Wii version alongside the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions at launch (see: Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War). When asked for comment, an Activision spokesperson couldn't confirm, only saying the publisher hasn't officially announced any platform Skus for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Treyarch recently worked on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare -- Reflex Edition, a port of Modern Warfare 1 for the Wii, which was released last November. The developer may have simply been unable to devote enough resources to work on the Black Ops Wii edition in time for this year as well.

I think this situation needs to be looked at in the grand scheme of things. Activision and EA are at war now.The new Medal of Honor will not be on the wii, so equally Call of Duty will not be on the wii. I expect this to go on for the rest of the gen. Both mega publishers are at war, and don't want to take chances.

i agree its freaking retarded.. since Infinity Ward isnt making this COD game its gonna be alot harder to get a wii version :(

Late or not, it'll only sell a small fraction of what the HD consoles sell. HD consoles and PC are the bread and butter. No point in dividing their attention with an inferior Wii port.

I hate to say it bud, but he's right especially when the move is coming out and you can still enjoy MW or any other hot shooter with better motion controls. It would be cool now that HD consoles have their own controls if you can choose which control type you want to use. That would own.

The Wii's handicap is not the controls. The inferior specs makes it require more attention for a port. The sales aren't good enough either for them to focus on it.
