Forums - PC Discussion - Steam is so bullsh**

I bought a fucking Steam protected game for the very first time to see how the service/DRM is like. It installed itself onto my machine but it won't install the damn game. It keeps saying it's "scanning for Steam games update" but I don't have any other steam games on my PC. It's been over an hour and I still can't install my game. What the fuck???

Try reinstalling? That problem can happen with the Clientregistery.blob, but since you haven't been on any servers i'm not even sure the file will exist to delete.

You would rather the game used Starforce/SecuROM?
BTW what game have you got?

well, I just purchased CoD4 and when I tried to play it "blocked" on installing an anticheat program

I relaunched the game and it functinoned ;)

Time to Work !

I know some people who have had trouble with Steam but I've never had any issues myself. Send them a mail and tell them what's going on!

I used to have a lot of trouble when Steam first launched, but nothing recently. Most of my problems were solved back then by reinstalling everything, so maybe that should be your first course of action.

Their help center is a pile of crap, though, so get ready to be infuirited by some guy who will try to convince you that every problem is due to your computer and not Steam itself.

Get a support ticket, they should help you out.
