Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Monster Hunter Tri: Wii Remote Pointer?

I'm using the Wii remote + Nunchuck control scheme for Monster Hunter Tri, and while the gestures are good, I've found support for the Wii remote pointer somewhat lacking.

For instance, in the inventory screen and most menus, you can hold Z to bring up an on-screen pointer. However, to manage inventory items, you still need to use the D-pad on the Wii remote. You can't just drag+drop or even click on an item to select it. So far, in all but one situation I've come across, the pointer does little more than, well... point.

The one exception is recording information for the Monster Record. You can drag+drop the monster to a book icon in the lower right-hand corner.

Am I missing something? Or is the pointer really under-implemented in this game?

It's not a deal breaker for me, but managing your inventory with the equivalent of cursor keys when you could have the equivalent of a mouse feels needlessly tedious.

Also, has anyone noticed the odd typo in the game text?
