Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is there any way to "unhack" my wii?

So today my adorable cousin came to visit us, so I left the house and let him with my wii and pc, when I came back I found his super surprise, yeah that's right, I found a sort of riivolution, homebrew, etc.....

Apparently it is awesome and he did me a favour, so yeah, I no longer speak to him now

So is there any way to erase all that, all the traces that it exists?

Buy a game that has an update?

You don't have to use it to pirate. In fact my Wii is hacked because my DVD-ROM started sounding like a buzz saw. So now I copy all of my games to an HD. they load faster and the systems i quiet and I own all of my games.(the games copy from your own discs).

BTW it is not illegal.

However you can find instructions how to unhack your wii if you want online.

Before you do anything download and play the shareware version of Quake for the Wii. it really is all kinds of awesome. There are plenty of other legitimate and entertaining Homebrew games you can enjoy too, why would you want to remove it all..? There's absolutely nothing wrong with responsible use of Homebrew.

Just delete the homebrew channel and any save data (Twilight hack) then update your Wii.

It's not illegal by the way, BUT Monster Hunter Tri requires an update of Shop Channel that will supposedly detect any soft mods.

I doubt it, yet there's a scare that it can brick your Wii.

Thank your cousin, there are ton of utilities for homebrew besides pirating games

Time for hype

Update your Wii.

I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

I don't see the big deal, there are some nifty uses for homebrew.

Update it with Nintendo, I'm guessing that will delete all the HBC stuff. Or go into data management and delete the channel.

Otherwise, you could try this. May be risky though.: http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/other-stuff/virgin

Update your Wii and relax about your friend. Seriously it's immature. Just tell him he should respect your property. It's not what he has done to your Wii that matters. It's that he doesn't value you and your stuff.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

It won't. I have a friend who is playing a burned copy online.
