Crap, I missed DS too!

I put Wii, which would be my favourite home console, but DS is #1 in my heart overall; NES in third.

So difficult to choose.

I think I'm going to go with the GameCube, mostly because it has Wind Waker and Animal Crossing (I still play that game XD) :D . Plus, the GameCube has the best controller ^_^.

It is tough to decide between the NES and SNES. I decided to pick the SNES, since it built on all the 2D work the NES did and continued the Nintendo domination of the time.

After that, I would put the GCN over the N64. While the N64 had some amazing games, so did the GCN. Also, the GCN had a more confortable and durable controller, and had Metroid.

I am very mixed when it comes to the Wii. On the one hand, I love it's innovation. On the other, the motion controls seem so crude that it seems they should have waited another generation before releasing a console with motion controls.

I did not pick the DS since it is a handheld, not a console.

Favorite: SNES
Least Favorite: Wii

SNES followed by NES.

Even though I began on the NES,SNES I have much more great Nostalgia and so many amazing games.

- Metroid Prime - Goldeneye 007
- Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Perfect Dark
- Resident Evil - Castlevania
- Resident Evil Zero - Resident Evil Zero
- Resident Evil 4 - Resident Evil 2
- Battalion Wars - Ogre Battle 64

I can easily find an equivalent (or better) on the N64.

i agree with you, that's why i put N64 above the cube.

also

Mario 64 >> Mario sunshine

Mario Kart 64 >> Mario Kart DD

F-Zero X >> F-Zero GX

Starfox 64 >> Starfox Adventures and Assault combined

but RE0 in the end never came out on N64, and Turok 1 & 2 would make a better comparison to the metroid primes, since they are exploration based fps, and made by some of the people who later become retro studios

I would rank Nintendo's best home consoles as:

1. Wii
2. NES
3. SNES
4. N64
5. Gamecube

N64 would have been #1 or #2 though had it gone with CD media and/or still had Square and Enix.

The Wii wins because i love it just as much as i loved the SNES back in the days.

Hmm I was thinking about this the other day again...my favorite consoles by Nintendo would probably be ranked in this order:

1. NES
2. SNES
3. N64
4. GameCube
5. Wii

Ironically, this coincides with their chronology (release).

This means I'm either getting old and reminiscing too much. Or games are really have declined in value.

Eh, it's whatever, I can be a disinterested old coot, but have fun with just two buttons and a directional pad. :)
