Hasn't this thread already been done and debunked. She has not popularized anything. People have been loving great dance videos since the beginning of music videos.

Lady Gaga is techno-pop not dance-pop, and even though she is heavily pop oriented, she is still probably the first big artist that does techno-pop almost exclusively and in that sense she is an innovator.

I can't speak for the US but in the rest of the world "dance" music and electronic music has been popular for a VERY long time.

A lot of Electropop was popular in the 80s and people like Kylie Minogue and Madonna have been doing it since before Jesus was born.

Of course Lady Gaga is leading the resurgence.

But that's dance pop which isn't really techno-pop

Whats the difference between "Dance pop" and "Techno-pop" I don't listen to either so I'm not sure of the difference.

I listen more to artists like Ahpex Twin, The Presets or Daft Punk then Lady Gaga or Kylie Minogue or any of the pop ilk.

I respectfully disagree.  Their original stuff is amazing, and their remixes frequently improve upon the original songs.

Check out this Justin Timberlake song they did.  It blows away the original (which wasn't too bad to start with):

Like others have stated she's dance pop.

And when has dance not been mainstream??? its mainstream in most countries worldwide (unless this articles just talking about america? then im mistaken)

           Exactly my point, her music is pop so of course she didn't popularize the already ultra mainstream pop music.
