Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rumor: 360 Slim is going to be at E3 plus more

I wonder how close E3 and Natal release to the general public are going to come. Perhaps Microsoft will try to ride the wave of interest after E3 and set the release date up 2-8 weeks after E3?

Thats July -> Mid August timespan.

They've said 'Holiday 2010' quite a few times though, besides I'm sure they'll drum up plenty more interest through mainstream advertising in the lead up to the launch than any E3 hype could provide.

It depends though... They need good worth of mouth, good retail support and time to deal with any potential shortages if it proves popular. People will probably want to see it with their own eyes before they make a decision, a large advertising campaign probably won't cut it. Its about timing, but I can't say when would be the best.

The more front loaded a product the closer it can be released before Christmas whilst the products which aren't as front loaded ought to be released a little further back to build up that critical momentum. Obviously December is too late, November I might say could be too late as well so they will probably be releasing it either in September or before which is about as far as im willing to go about speculating their release dates.

Yes people will need to see it, but they have probably two years to sell Natal before the 720 is released. I'm pretty sure Microsoft will want to imitate the launch of Wii as closely as possible. We'll see soon enough either way.

No actually Surfer Girl has been right MANY times in the past, however;

"So... isn't the world of gaming pretty fucked up?

Firstly, any old dumbass can start a blog spouting crap and so-called 'legitimate' gaming websites fall over themselves to cover it. I'm looking at you MaxConsole.

What's more, within the space of hours gaming forums are only too willing to perpetuate substance-less rubbish. Even the oh-so-preciousNeoGaf with it's "I'm more hardcore than you" snobbery. 280 replies and 26,000 page views... Gee, thanks guys.

Seriously, I often wonder if 90% of the people on that site even know what 'preeminent' means? Especially when, of late, a quick run through the first page of Gaf is actually the same mix of bitching and N4G reposts you get on any other gaming forums.

Standards have fallen.

See ya."

That would be cool! I knew I should have waited to buy another Xbox 360. Of course, it's just a rumor ;).

It will be interesting to see how aggressive Microsoft is with pricing of Natal.
If they wanted to, they could probably have the baseline 360 have a hard drive and Natal for $250.

an Elite system with built in wifi, a larger hard drive, and halo reach bundle for $300 ?

they would never add value like that. But they could!

Sadly, I doubt they'll ever bundle WiFi. :/

I'd like to see MS really go for the throat and surprise everyone with just one SKU (360 slim, Natal, 120GB HDD) going forward at $199.  They've been making money on the hardware since 2008 supposedly, I think it's well past time they got back into marketshare driving mode...
