Odd. Alot of you people dislike X-2. But mostly all the people I knew in school who bought it enjoyed it alot, as did I.

on topic. FF7 has a prequel, and a sequel. Why are those not counted as well like FFX-2?

Well, I can't speak for others, but when I say spinoff, I'm not saying it isn't a Final Fantasy, as it clearly is and making an argument that it isn't would be completely pointless, but it should not, and will never be in my eyes, a part of the main series and was simply a marketing ploy by Square to get more people playing.  I'm not a big fan of MMOs, and while I do like the series, I don't have the time to play all of Square's little spinoffs.

Besides, even if I was into MMOs, I would be playing World of Warcraft, as I love the Warcraft universe and I can't imagine that FFXI could ever compare to the amount of depth and detail Warcraft has accumulated over the years.

With Final Fantasy X-2, the game played out like a true Final Fantasy game, and was deserving of the "X-2", while the FFVII prequel and sequel are clearly spin-offs (have few similarities to the gameplay of the main series) and not really main entry titles... at least that is how I see it.

FFVII prequal and sequel tied in with the story. Is that a spin off? You're intitled to have your opinion, I can't change your mind.

I haven't voted for any of the others but I've enjoyed every single FF I've played save for one; FFX-2, it is an atrocity imo. It felt like it was targeted at ten year old girls most of the time and the rest of the time it just annoys with clunky mechanics like the abhorrent dress spheres and the ludicrous mini-games.

FFXI I haven't played so I can't say anything one way or the other.

One thing I can't understand is why so many hate FFXII but like FFXIII? I loved XII but found XIII to be... lacking. Most of the true gameplay and depth has been removed, there's still a good game left at the core but it does not bode well for the future of the series.

It really is underrated, it's just so much fun! Of course it doesn't hold a candle against FFX but it's still good on its own. I particularly enjoyed the excellent combat system and the huge amount of side quests + generally high replay value. What I didn't like is the shallowness of the story and more than half the soundtrack.

FF X-2 - 9/10 Hm, I guess this game really is a love it or hate it type game. In FFX, I hated Yuna. She was so weak and timid, and I never really liked her. So going into FF X-2, I thought I would dislike the whole game since it was even more centered around her than the first. However, upon playing X-2, I really began to like her. As a whole, I think the game is just light hearted fun. Lots of minigames to keep the game interesting, a fun, light plot, and a fun battle system that kept things entertaining. I don't really know what there was to hate about it...

FF XI- Never played it. I hate play to pay, and was disappointed that they postponed making other FF games while working on this... Funny that if you switch the words "FF" with "Warcraft" that is exactly how I feel about World of Warcraft, although to much greater extent... I want my Warcraft IV!
