Antisotropic. My knowledge with that post-process is not that great but I do know it's supposed to make smoke fuller or something. I'm running on 8 gigs of ram, 3ghz quad core, and 9800gt SLI'd. It's actually several years old, but it still handles BC2 like butter. At least until AS goes up then it drops to something around 15 FPS, especially when I shoot from tanks. |
Hmm... first it's called AF, not AS lol. Second, I doubt AF does much, or anything at all to smoke. I always thought AF only makes textures sharper, nothing else. (EDIT: not sharper per se, but removes the blurryness of ground textures that are seen from an angle at distance).
Also it's awkward that you get a big performance hit from AF. Usually AF doesn't strain hardware that much. Now, my rig is CPU bottlenecked, but AA and the in-game graphic settings affect my FPS a lot more than AF (which I set to 16x via ATI control panel). Maybe you have some conflict in settings through the Nvidia control panel?? Because with a drop to 15FPS something is severely wrong considering you have such a strong PC.
Do you run FRAPS? I monitor FPS via FRAPS all the time, and I have an AMD Athlon 6000+, only Dual core 3.1 Ghz, with Radeon 4850, and I get only 30-40 FPS as I said in multiplayer (sometimes 50FPS if server pop is low, or if the area I happen to be in is less intense on combat and environment rendering).
I wish I had 60 FPS steady. Maybe I need to upgrade my CPU asap.
