Replacement consoles are still sales. You can't just subtract them and forget about them. Even if this article is right and 9 million 360 sales are replacements that doesn't change anything.

This is not correct, replacement console are not counted as sold by MS.

I think that what he meant, by replacement consoles, are consoles that are bought by consumers a second time 'cause their first ones got broken and the warranty had expired. I suppose you were assuming that replacement consoles were the ones borrowed by MS when you get the RRoD, right?

Oh and another thing @ Chairman-Mao, I think that what the OP (the source) wanted to show is that the PS3's userbase is bigger than the 360's one. In fact, that's the only thing he can argue about, the 360 has sold more than the PS3 and that's simply undeniable.

Thank you. And thus the point of the article remains valid.

Our customers are very important to us." -Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb (10/2013). Note: RRoD was fixed with the Jasper-revision 3 years after the launch of 360

For all who are bashing the writer, please respond with a reasonable answer. The article is based on facts and numbers about failures and total consoles sold. If you think it is wrong, the provide your numbers. In the end, VGC is based on sampling and numbers.

For all who are calling this an article, please note that it's actually a post at some random forum.

Ha ha!  Badgenome, you slay me with your humorous posts!!

I don't get it.

Warranty info (direct from each manufacturer):

You're making the fallacious assumption that the point was valid in the first place.

Well, except that it's entirely disingenuous, unsubstantiated and seething with bias.  But other than that it's totally solid. <3

And the DS has already passed the PS2...

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
