Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Cambridge: "Forget brain training - and eat a salad instead"

All the brain training commercials I've seen only show people looking deeply at whatever they were doing as well as having fun.

I don't see where someone in a Nintendo commercial picks up a DS pops in Brain Training and then graduates from Oxford to end up rewriting the dictionary in 5 different languages.

well u dont see people playing wii fit actually loosing weight , it's similar kinda deal, it doesn't matter unless u eat less calories, and start actually doing real exercise u won't loose weight.

like it doesnt matter how many push up you do, if you don't do enough cardio to remove that fat.

WiiFit is very depressing =/ even if you killed yourself with training you are always "You're overweight!"

It's actually excellent for older people / retired people who don't use their brain as much as they used to.

Keeping your brain thinking will keep you sharp at old age, your brain is like a muscle, if you don't use it, it will get weak.

Eating a salad will not help this, sorry.

I agree. Anyone working with elderly would as well I guess.

But then Cambridge is referring to "middle aged people".

I guess they are just not doing it right...

ummm, the report from Cambridge is misleading. Cambridge explicitly says that BT games don't increase IQ. That is true. There are tests are also not that accurate either. BT Games are mental excersise to sharpen certain aspects nothing more. There is no IQ increase. Secondly there is talk about answering quests. These are different from brain speed function.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
