Err, Sega does better platformers than any company (save for Nintendo) and Sony haven't made a platformer thats worthy of the name unless you count Uncharted 2 as a platformer. Crash are ok, but go back and play them today and you will see how outdated they are, Ratchet and Clank i wouldn't call platformer as its more of a shooter.

all come to mind with sony platformers , and sure 1 of then is from a 2nd party, but they still own the ip, not all of nintendo's first party is made by 1st party they also have 2nd party devs under hand.

So the only reason Sony has a good platformer is cause they published one and then decided to buy out developer?

I'd take sega in the sorry state they are now and hope Sonic 4 turns out good for platformers over Sony.
