Okay here's the deal. The best way that I can describe this game is like going out with a new girl. You're not quite sure if you're falling in love with her, if she's slowly driving you nuts, or a bit of both.

The game has a lot going for it. It is insanely addictive. I played it for over eight hours yesterday. It is extremely well made and there is a lot to it. There are many different items and several you can combine to make more powerful one's. It's going to take a long time to figure out exactly what does what and exactly how it all works. The way the game is set up, you always feel like you are working toward something whether it be new armor, a weapon upgrade, or whatever. As db8rman said, MHT guides you along slowly and to be honest it's better for it, and you won't feel overwhelmed. Also, the environments and monsters are really good looking. You can definitely tell that a lot of work went into this game. The combat is extremely fun as well.

The only problem that I can see (the potential insanity and anger that might arise from it), is that I'm not quite sure yet if there is going to be enough variety to the game. Keep in mind I am just saying this after one day of gameplay. Hunting monsters in order to get upgrades and get more powerful is definitley fun, but I'm not sure whether or not I want to do a couple of hundred of hours of it.

MHT is a lot like the start of a relationship with a pretty girl that you like a lot. She looks good, is nice and the potential is there for you to fall in love with her, but like all relationships, there is the doubt that this might not work out in the long run. Basically what I'm saying is that this is going to either be one of my favorite games or I'm going to wind up hating it after I realize that it's gotten old after a hundred hours and that I wasted that much time. So in conclusion, I'm not sure if I want to get married or if I'm going to get cold feet. The sex is great now though.

I have an addendum to this.

Playing any Video game is a waste of time. It serves no serious progress purpose in our lives. It's a hole filler. Now that I have said that I'm going to go back to playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Eventually I will get Tri and happily waste my time playing an awesome game.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

So am I safe?

You just compared it to a hot girl. I happen to love hot girls, and I know Mr Bond is a sucker for the ladies so I'll assume I'm safe for now.

For all of you that are playing this game, what controller are you using and why? I have yet to start and would like to hear a few opinions.

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, always assume you have the upper hand.

NNID = RangerOne

Switch = SW-2393-3671-6907

Okay, I like this game. A lot. But my girlfriend took a nap when I started playing it, woke up two hours later and I was still playing it, and now she's bugging me to get off the computer so we can start............ doing .........it.......

Seriously, my only beef is the voice I assigned my character. He grunts EVERY TIME he is even in a slight jog.

I mean like every three seconds. ...Erg.......erg............erg................erg.................*pauses to gather mushroom* ......................erg.

I'm going to have to restart. The grunting, ..... the grunting is just too much!

Yeah leave that to the bedroom

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

CC Pro. It just feels like it was made specificly for this game...which it pretty much was.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

So MH3's gameplay is a bit like World of Warcraft? with that I mean lots and lots of farming/grinding monsters for armor/weapon uppgrades?

Not that much grinding, and the combat itself is much more exciting and fulfilling.

Just hoping it sells well, a million in the west would be awesome :D
