Forums - Sony Discussion - HELP: Problem with PS3 video output settings

Ok, so I recently bought a Dynex 32 inch tv, 720p and connected it to my PS3 via HDMI. The only problem is, the image has been condensed (i.e. There is just black on the left and right sides of the screen, the image has been squished for some reason). I tried adjusting my HDMI settings, changed the PS3 resolution to 720p and removed the 1080p/i option and even turned off overscan mode on my tv. I also tried connecting my old A/V cables and switching the resolution from 4:3 to 16:9 but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Around the Network

have you tried using Component Cables instead of HDMI?

Possibly a setting on the TV, see if there is a 4:3 override somewhere in the tv settings?

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

try pressing the on/off button from 5-10 seconds.. it will restart the output settings.. ;)
