Forums - Gaming Discussion - So, I was playing this one game and I realized how low gaming has become...

@ guy above me.... are you calling it a dumb downed morrowind with better graphics.

:P I thought so. Still a damn good game though.

And the reality, is that those trees and things take a lot longer than they used to. but yeah

Not sure about you, But i would be screaming if i had to spend 10 hrs in a dungeon. I usually like to move on to different places and get a bit of variety going. 2-3 hours max in one place for me.
I remember in DQVIII where i spent over 2 hours in a castle and there was no save points, was shitting my pants cause if i had died, i would've shelved the game.
RPG's are shorter these days yes, but they're not as short as you make them out to be.

do you count in DLC time? cause, you know... soon it'll be "buy the game engine so that you can play the DLC"...

Oblivion you can spend 60+ hours in and still find new quests to do. I don't see how gaming has become low like you say it has.

It's kind of funny you use game that is ultimate example of dumbing down new games in series to negate his claim.

Fallout 3 works also. I just used it because it is my favorite RPG of all time out of the 2 that i have played.

Thats true man, i still think that RPG's today are still reletively long tho...

But yea one of my favorite games of all time was Morrowind...The single longest and largest game ever created since the beginning of gaming.

“Absolutely, we can do much more with it. I don’t know if we are even close to 50 percent of PlayStation 3’s power at this point,” said Asmussen about God of War 3.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

11 hours in one dungeon ?
I'd call that a game flaw

unless it was a dungeon, that you could go scooba diving in, and kill a big monster.

And procreate with the fish

Yes but they fixed that... to an extent with ME2

But if you do all the sidequests in ME2 with dialogue, its around 30 hours... you can do the searching planets and invading places, but I find that tedius, because it feels second rate compared to the rest of the game.

Did you play Mass Effect?

I played it on easy skipping almost every sidequest and using a FAQ and I believe my playthrough was probably around 12 hours (I'd have to go back and look) but I wouldn't count that as the play time.  Actual play time for that game is around 20.
