Because FF XI has a very loyal fanbase and XI makes them tons of money. and I expect XIV to get bette reviews than XIII honestly. It is alot more traditional.

square want to make it the perfect MMORPG experience though.. and are on current gen hardware for it too

I have seen part of the opening cutscene for XIV. If they keep it up for the rest of the game. They have won already. Maybe not in sales, but in quality and awesomeness.

some people are afraid of final fantasy+mmorpg. they really don't understand jack. And they suppose to be the "final fantasy fans"

i just hope theres no subscription fees for it....
though i know it will be inevitable.

and why do people have such a big problem with this? I don't get it. People waste so much money on other things such as cell phones or junk food but I never see them complain. and no CELL PHONES ARE NOT A NECESSITY!

Online wasn't BIg on PS Systems till this gen.

Now its BIG.

Could this be the first breakout console MMO? That may be what S-E want.

It sounds unlikely to happen.

But for S-E its success is important as they'll have a steady stream of revenue from it.

For the console war, not important.

For the genre on consoles.....could be very important.

Make the service free,
then it'll be important to me =)

But it isn't going to be.
