Forums - Gaming Discussion - Street Fighter 4 Trailer Analysis

I think it's gonna be 3D models in 2D gameplay, thus will go multiplatform on all 3 consoles:

1. Agree with naz here. The character movement was incredibly linear (no side-steps shown like Tekken or Soul Calibur).

2. Seeing as Capcom is lately in love with Wii and Street Fighter fans would like a 2D game they'll sacrifice graphical excellence in order to bring the game to all 3 consoles.

The suits calling the shots at Capcom probably haven't even made the final decision on what platforms to bring it on yet. There is almost certainly not going to be anything other than HD graphics and effects that prevent it from coming to the Wii, and Capcom has been pretty Nintendo-friendly lately, so I'm pretty optimistic about the little white box getting SF4.

I'm not incredibly interested in this game though. I got out of console games before SF2 was released, and back in only after the franchise had gone down the crapper. I'll be interested if the fourth part really shakes things up, but I dunno. =/

I'm not sure I'm interested yet either.  SF3 sorta killed my interest in the series.

The game will look so awesome if they manage to pull of the flowing ink effect lik in the trailer. I'm feeling 2.5D and I hope they include the roster from SF3: 3rd strike.

As for who will win the battle between Ryu and Ken...

Akuma. :)

Just the first SF3 or all of them?  SF3 wasn't that great because they butchered the character roster and changed some other things, but SF3: 3rd strike brought back all the characters from SF2 in addition to the new guys from SF3, and overall imrpoved upon SF2 in every way, imo.

I really can't wait for this

The first SF3 followed by the insane milkfest.

You know, I miss the old Streetfighter days. Especially the SF2/SF2-T/S-SF2 series. My best character was Ryu and my friend's was Ken.  Seeing the trailer was Ryu vs Ken brought back a lot of good memories.

I want Streetfighter to make a comeback for the nostalgia factor. I want to see it become great again. That said, my expectations for the next Streetfighter game are not high.

That analysis kind of sucked in results, but it was interesting to watch.

Instead of having a life bar, each charecter will only have a certain amount of ink that can be knocked off them, until they are insubstantial and can no longer deliver damage, thus unable to win the fight!
