OMG... but I went to a Guru3D.com page ans saw... nVidia has more features embedded and software that makes 3D Glasses available and multiple monitors available... I don´t see that on ATI side... I always had ATI cards, more cheap and never needed the extra features... I still own an old AGP X800 XT All in wonders... I hope uprade my PC at the end of the year for a ASUS notebook with the i7 and 5870 video card, but with just 1Gb ddr5... not 1.5gb.. today notebook rules..

Their multi-monitor tech isn't as good as the one ATI has, 3D Glasses is more a gimmick since it fucks you over with online competition, but their CUDA support is very good since it's been out much longer than ATI Stream. Notebook i7s perform like shit unless you shell out for the best version which is way too much money, and don't expect mobile video chipsets to give you the best performance for the money since they don't match.

Side note, the power draw difference in between the new Nvidia cards and ATI cards are like night and day, I'd go ATI as a main card anyday just for that.

just press the button on the emitter and poof back to 2D and 120 fps...

However I play just fine online with the 3D... i'm not a sharpshooter anyways... and I play more single player than online (or L4D... but zombies die just the same).

About 3 months after the 40nm 2xx parts were released, Nvidia rebranded all of the them to 3xx parts (210, 220, 240 to 310, 320, 340). They also created a new G92 based part, the GT 330. Nothing added, no new member of the series, just increment them by 100 in model number. Oh, and the 330 outperforms the 340.

So this new series was released as 400 to avoid confusing it with the inferior 300 series. Expect at least three derivatives (GF104, GF108 and one other) branded as Geforce 430, 440, 450, and another GF100 derivative as the GTX 460.

Meh all hardware manufacturers drop the ball every so often. Hell I remember when the Athlon was faster then the pentium 4!

Yeah, it's cyclic. AMD won with R300, Nvidia with G80, AMD with RV770 and Evergreen, and it could easily be Nvidia next time. Just not before Q3 this year.

I am happy ATI is king once again.

The Radeon 9700 and the X1900XT were the best graphics cards I ever had, possibly in competition with my first, 3dfx Voodoo 1.

Based off die size alone the GT104 ought to spank Juniper good, unfortunately based off die size alone the same ought to have been said of G100.

Tease.

Extrapolation from GF100 to a 256-shader part would have it as a Cypress-sized part with Juniper level performance. That's no value proposition unless Nvidia want to lose money. And AMD has a lot of price maneuvering room if they do.

Can someone explain to me why Nvidia dropped the ball with the GTX480?

I've looked at benchmarks and its easily the most powerful single GPU DX11 card.
We all know the issues that come about with dual GPU setups so I think being a single GPU is a plus. While its ~50-70 bucks more than ATI's closest single GPU card (5870)...it runs ~25% faster on most game benchmarks I've seen...

Like I use the Nvidia 3D vision so I am kind of stuck to Nvidias cards...but even that aside...I'd buy one if I could ...but they are sold out.

Hell I'm even thinking about getting a GTX470 which at $349 comes off as a great bargain.

I'm thinking that GTX470 in SLI would most likely rape the 5970 and cost the same or less.

mmmmm high end video cards /drool
