Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do not listen to the reviews! (Red Steel 2)

To be fair here Severance, what you described is almost EXACTLY what the reviews did (except the WM+ part), so to tell us not to listen to the reviews seems kind of weird. What you seem to dislike is the score, and most of us (well most of us that can occasionally think rationally) only use the score as a general indicator and then read the review. What you actually want is for people to actually listen to the review but ignore the score. Which is just general good advice.

I completely agree. It's just as bad as the first game. It's just, because of MotionPlus, people got all hyped and their eyes glazed over. Yes, the controls are better, but just about everything else is bland and boring. I HATED the required tutorials as well.

The controls are great, unmatched in any game given the FPS and special moves. WSR still has better sword controls though.

RS2 is no OoT or Half Life with motion. That's being saved for Zelda Wii. Controls have 'saved' this game. It's average/mediocre without M+ but I'm hoping the challenge modes will make this a WSR Showdown 'plus'.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take old games with motion over old games in HD (Tekken 6) any day of the week however this game doesn't deserve a 90+ *.

*90-95% 2010 = 80% 1990

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I only complain about replayability, but I enjoy it since I only paid 40 bucks with the motion plus.

I was gonna buy this instead of YAKUZA 3 today

but I dunno some impulse made me get yakuza 3 instead, reading your OP I'm happy about my decision!

I would've done the same thing.

I played the Y3 demo two days ago- its repetitive too but, seems more entertaining than Red Steel 2.

Bought it, played it, and I'm enjoying it. It's definitely different from most FPS' out there, which is why I'm actually finding it refreshing rather than repetitive (I suppose its more of a FPA akin to Metroid Prime than a standard FPS). So yeah, regardless of the console I found it to be an enjoyable experience so far.

And don't listen to LastRambo, you're still a winner in my book.

Nobody should listen to HIM, not me.

i know! HIM is such a lame band

Don't listen to anybody is a better way to think, or at least don't obey anyone saying:

"i am here to tell you, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, if you see it, ignore it and buy something good like Metroid or Monster Hunter , this game is overrated , yes OVERRATED!"

There are people who don't like every game after all, Some don't like Mario Kart, doesn't mean 20million+ people shouldn't have bought the game.

I've read your suggestions and I have to say that I'm still gonna have to give it a go. Tastes vary differently. As far as I'm concerned Halo 3 is complete garbage but that's just my opinion. There are millions of people who enjoy halo 3. That being said I'm gonna have to go with metacritic's score on this one.

i guess you are right, if you want to see how good/bad it is, try it yourself

but its just a heads up if anyone is on the fence about it i guess....

Red Steel 2 is all those things you mentioned and more. I was also disappointed there was no online multiplayer. It's definitely a rent.
