The go is really doing poorly.

Agreed, but I am sure they make more than $100 profit per PSP Go sold.

It really doesn't matter how much it costs Sony to produce each PSPGo unit, even if that is profitable. What matter is how much money was put into the design and development of the entire product and how much money Sony spent and is spending with the factories and workers that make the PSPGo's along with all the money spent in advertisement. Considering that they weren't able to even sell the first shipment, I think that each unit will mean an overall loss for Sony.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Well, we don't know that now do we?

We only know that it profits big time in the US (at least $100) and probably even more in EU+Others.

Doesn't matter, 'cause the total volume sales is so small.

If I am not mistaken, Sony said it was selling according to their expectations.

The portable gaming system I build and sell out of my garage is also selling to my expectations.

The PSP Go is nothing more than a rehash of another portable player Sony had already.

But, would the small amount of units make up for all the money they invested on it? I think it's doubtful.

The PSGo makes Sony money for each units sold, and it's very expensive.

I know it does, but I'm asking if it's yet profitable as a whole project. If the amount of money invested is bigger than the total profits you get from it when all is said and done, then it means it wasn't profitable.
