in 12 months, selling 16 million... thats a possibility however it depends on how much of system seller Move will be and GT5 and i dont actually know any other Sony exclusives this year that could sell systems, will have to look into that.

PS3 sold 12'404'802, Jan 4th 2009 to Jan 2nd 2010, then it could get very close to 50 million, probably about 4 million away if it repeats last years sales, which i think this year will be very slightly better as the Slim will be out all year instead of just half the year so if it sells between 13 - 14 million this FY then it could be as close as 2 million away so yes it realistically could just about reach 50 million depending on the games and success of Move.

It has to sell 15 million right? So that means it'll have to have something as big as the slim to keep mementom going. They have to have something big up there sleaves

As I was saying, the main reasons for the PS3 MAJOR success last year were:

*Price cuts, large price cut in UK

*Release of Slimmer model which caused discontinuation of older models, therefore affected the prices of the old models as stock was cleared.

*Lineup has somewhat affected the not yet decided people.

And PS has a MUCH larger fanbase, after all, PS1 and PS2 did shift around 250-300M consoles in their lifetime.

Your right and your list support my claim in saying you are exagerating. With the list you posted I dont see how it support your statement of:  "On the 360 front however, there is unrest as several exclusive titles have been announced,".

Why not, the exclusives that I think will sell well, and I guarantee 3-4M lifetime at LEAST

 Alan Wake, Halo Reach, Mass Effect 2(Might be doubtful a bit here, but is a highly critics acclaimed game), SC:C, Crackdown 2, Fable III and probably more that will be announced at E3, as I have mentioned it would be a good idea to wait until E3 but the list is considerably better in comparison with the 2009. More exclusives would mean that the consoles can suck away the customer base from the other one. As I said it is possible that Sony will pull off another 13M year, but 16m is being a tad bit too optimistic!

I'm going to say that GT5 will sell at least 12 million LTD. Not including Greatest Hits edition.

I also think that Uncharted 2 will get a Game of the Year edition. As will Modern Warfare 2. Both of which will spur sales.
If Uncharted 2 doesn't get a GotY edition, then it will get Greatest Hits treatment.

Move can't be a hit right of the gate. Also its $200 more than a wii. Whose going to buy that with a high price?
Note Ps3=300+100(rumored price tag)=400-200=$200

GT5 will have to be one heck of a game to counter the slim

Will they really cut the price already? Shouldn't they save it for 2011? That year looks barren for big system sellers?
Unless you count the small hitters which will probery hold it
