I'm not getting defensive nor is it my "precious" game. I'm just stating how now that the tables are turned and a great looking 360 exlusive is coming out the PS3 defense team is coming out to knock it down.

On another note why does every 360 thread that has nothing to do with comparing graphics or anything to PS3 get trolled by PS3 owners and the inevitable "It doesn't look as good as Uncharted 2" comes up? Its really getting ridiculous.
TBH this game is not on my to buy list as I have Red Dead Redemption preordered and wait for it.....it doesn't look as good as Uncharted 2! But don't be surprised if the gameplay is better. Thats the only thing that matters. Enough of the graphics comparisons.

I know people expect this from me. But this is easily best graphics on consoles and PC so far.

Read selnors post for the answer to your question.... UC2 and GOW3 are the two best console gfx power houses at the moment...so when fans make claims as such, comparisons WILL happen

And really, with 15mins you can't exactly comment much on anything but gfx...story etc is still too early to call

 I'm 4 years into this generation and nothing that the consoles put out amazes me. I'm probably more critical than most of you because of the fact I'm a computer graphics major and also studied fine arts. Last time I was amazed at a game this gen was Gears 1 which is the first game to truly look "next gen". Yes I've played GOWIII, seen Uncharted 2 so don't ask. It is just gonna take the next gen of consoles to amaze me again.

There's a difference between hyping a game because you're genuinely excited about it and hyping a game simply in the hope that in meets or exceeds the visuals set by another, rival platforms titles. At least that seems to be the motive behind some posters hype, who seem to have a 360 related inferiority complex when it comes to graphics.

No other console game out at the moment can compete with U2 in my opinion, except GOW III. I'm still undecided which looks better. Alan Wake looks great, I actually think some of the better visuals may come later in the game, with daylight scenes and large open areas (I hope).

What games do you consider amazing looking? Without of course defecting to the usual PC suspects.

I myself admit that I tended to downplay Heavy Rain before it game came out, due to fanboyism.

In this thread every single Sony fan is downplaying Alan Wake.

I know it's your opinion and all, but I wouldn't go that far. Without comparing it to other games, it did have some graphical dips and then some fantastic rises. The texture work seemed to vary, indoors it look's fantastic, but then outside it's kinda meh (more at the intro and less in the second half). The Lighting is also probably some of the best I've ever seen, but I think their trying way to hard to show off their best feature (to many light sources at once made the game look weird sometimes). The interaction between the character and the environment seemed kinda stiff at certain times and the facial design of the two characters they did show didn't look that amazing. 

I'm nitpicking, but I'm just trying to point out that the game isn't exactly perfect and comparing it to PC games is kind of a stretch.

Alan Wake has gone gold.

And Remedy said screen tearing on online videos is due to the captures being at a different rate than the game. It's on the forums of Alan Wake. Remedy confirmed 4 months ago there was no tearing except for extreme circumstances in the game. Which they were fixing for release. He said no tearing anywhere else.

Also OMFG! at 3:55 onwards. He's turning the camera around and it looks like a cutscene from the best CGI games. Unbelievable. That Tornado was defiantely Remedy showing off. It was Jaw to floor time. OMG!
