ok. i've read enough! at the end of the day it all comes down to the market we're in! so i'll talk about the U.S.! 8m unit difference seems to account for alot! and as a ps3 gamer im going to throw down a small exsplosive for you. ps3 gamers just arn't there. i havn't bought 1 fps game this gen! and i havn't bought one game on this list. most ps3 gamers still havn't bought a ps3 yet. its true that we are all spread out over several genres. can anyone on here tell me five shooters that sold more than 5m on ps2. if you can start a thread and post them. as a matter of fact i only have three games for my ps3 and not one of them is on this list. ps3 gamers are still at that stage of (i plan to buy these games i just can't do it now). yep. thats me. sounds just like me. ps3!

Look at them exclusives you listed, shooters, people on 360 ADORE shooters, it's all they ever like, whereas on the PS3, people like all kinds of games, and not just shooters, you'll see that the PS3 offers more variety, especially in the exclusive games it has, example, LittleBigPlanet. So shooters aren't going to sell better at all, are they...

Good point, but from a developer's point of view, let's take naughty dog they could easily tripple there sales of Uncharted if they went multiplat, so what's stopping them from doing that cause there's no reason to stay exclusive to ps3 if the majority of software sales for 3ps are on the 360??

Btw I own a ps3 and like the fact that uncharted's exclusive but don't see any reason for it to stay that way in the future:(

what stop them from going multi-plat is the fact that they are owned 100% by sony who funds all their projects.

you can't say pirated games hurt sales... Buying the x360 over Ps3 in the first place for those pirates is the very fact that they can pirate games. If you can't pirate games, they wouldn't even buy the x360.

If anything, the fact that games CAN be pirated only helped DS and the X360 sell better over PS3 and PSP (with the PSP starting in 3000 and Go unpiratable, and the fact that PSP is a system that can be easily updated via firmware which locks out new games being played on outdated firmware).

I agree with most of what you said. Alot of ppl I knew originally purchased a 360 over the PS3 due to the fact that you could pirate games. While most of them go purchase the big exclusives like Gears, Halo, COD,ect most of the other games they download.

I do have to disagree with the psp factor because that is a system where modding and pirating affected it significantly. I mean with the psp updates frequently but there's always a new modded firmware around the corner. I think a huge part of the problem with the psp was the pricing on the games when they first came out (overpriced in my opinion)

What are they - a PS3 gamer in spirit?

i asked the same question. they are late adopters. i like to call them the $179.99-$149.99 ers

There not, lately PS3 has been out saleing 360 in software, 360 owners like shooters, its more of a PC console, PS3 owners play everything, Plus in America PS3 has a lot less consoles sold, and Americans play different games then Japan and others colum, So these are some of the reasons, also Halo is a hugh franchise there working on there 6th game , since what 2003, so PS does not have any solid shooters with this following, all in all PS3 is doing very well, also the 360 is to, this is a gen where everybody is winning.

the ps3 comunity tends to be more sppread out. so uv got the people who will get the shooters and the ones who will get little big planet kinda stuff. not lieteraly all but most people with a 360 tend to prefer shooters.

Because there are so much good games and you don't know which one to pick? :p

May the adjustments be with you
