Gears of War 3 should have a lot of different unique bosses and a dramatic story. I will show you how I think the game should play out act by act.
Act 1, your fighting the last remains on locust activity in a city that was decimated by hammer of dawns. Ash is everywhere and suddenly locusts start getting destroyed by lambent locusts. Marcus, Dom, Baird, Cole, and Anya barely make it out of this situation-almost getting their helicopter destroyed by a tentacle-lambent. Then you head to half destroyed building that is on fire and ashes everywhere. Here you will go in the basement and fight a lambent rockworm. Remember gunshots don’t affect them; you have to get it to follow you and shoot items around you to kill this boss.
Act 2 takes place in the ruins of Jacinto. Delta squad was sent to examine the rumors of lambent locusts appearing in the city. They get scuba gear and head underwater. They encounter a bunch of different seaweed, rocks, coral, and oil. Then swimming wretches and tentacle locusts start to surround your squad. Marcus decides it would be easier if we surround the locusts by splitting up. One group takes the tunnel, the other group takes the coral rout the group that takes the tunnel can fight spider lambent and deal with falling coral that hurts you (similar to razor hail). The other path leads to a huge epic gun war, torpedoes, and gilled-locusts fighting lambent fighting humans. You will also have to watch out for sharks and jellyfish. After the two paths meet up and progress, there will be an enormous boss fight. You have to shoot oil tanks from cars and chainsaw drain pipes to kill off the giant fish locust.
Act 3, Marcus meets his father for the first time since the war started. He joins the cog and Anya goes back to giving orders temporarily. They go through tunnels fighting boomers and snipers and finally get to the locust queen. She decides to work with the Cog to defeat the lambent. She gives you info on how to utilize the locust’s abilities and she gives you a lambent costume. The next mission when you are at a warehouse trying to find lambent IQ you can either use the Queens costume and use stealth, or you may choose to go guns and blazing’. With the new two round shotguns you can shoot multiple enemies at a time. This would be the most ideal weapon to use at this time because there is lots of violence. At this point the locusts are on your side, however, if you shoot them they start shooting you so you have to decide who to fire at. One group of two goes upstairs cranks down a bridge while providing cover, the other group downstairs can use the hammer of dawn where the roof has broken into pieces. Ten lambent boomers come from the underground chambers. Use hammer of dawn the brake down a column that opens the door. Here is the giant lambent tortoise boss. His shell is made of rock and is nearly indestructible. He has 3 berserkers as hostages, while avoiding the turtle’s attacks; you have to shoot the chains on the berserkers freeing them. Once they are all freed you have to get the berserkers to follow you. Lead them into the tortoise and it kills him after a few tries (Shatters his shell).
Act 4, things are getting desperate, your forced to live in an abandoned forest tent. Dizzy will assist you. This part of the game is in a way, open world. You have to spend 30 minutes trying to survive. After you explore the tent, in five minutes it’s starting to get cold and dark. It is going to give you the suspense that condemned gives you. After 10 minutes you have to bring wood to your fire (A pistol in one hand, wood in the other), and you have to shoot infected zombie like locusts that give a harsh scream. At about 15 minutes, you have to place the camp with bombs. At 20 minutes dizzy steps out into the dark and gets eaten by krill. Dom says, “I thought those were extinct”, because that was what gears 2 said in one of the journals. You have to stay by the cover by the fire and scary locusts try to kill you. It’s finally 30 minutes, you’re sleeping in the tent and a Man eating lambent wakes you up trying to eat you. Luckily you have your lancer nearby and in the cinematic you grab it, then you have to repeatedly press B button and you end up sawing the lambent head in half. The boss for this level is a flying enemy. You have to shoot the bombs that you placed around the camp when he lands, at the same time you have to avoid him.
Act 5, you learn where all the locusts came from and how the lambent got infected. You enter a room with a large puzzle; it involves turning large cranks in a specific order. You can do this with either Natal or by using the X button. Once you have figured it out, you get into a room where the government is taking tests on locusts, they discover a way to inject them and kill them instantly. You can do this on the next following enemies and there’s just going to be more fighting from there on.
Act 6, this is where you “End the War”, you find yourself in a coliseum where the summon 15 lambent boomers and 20 other lambent locusts. Once you have killed them all, you have to fight the lambent KING. He rides the top of a lambent brumach and it takes 10+ minutes to kill him. You can do it by planting explosives and lure him into going above them and then shooting it. You can grab a butcher knife and slash at him a lot and he will eventually die. Or you can ride a reaver and land onto him and pick at him. When you beat the lambent king, you think the game is over, then the Locust queen comes in to play. She is more difficult to kill, she has two powerful body guards that are as tough as raam. You have to kill them first them she will come down from the thrown and you and your partners have to tactically kill her.
