Forums - Sales Discussion - Mario Sunshine > Mario Galaxy ?? (Japan)

http://vgchartz.com/japcomp.php?name1=Super+Mario+Sunshine&name2=Super+Mario+Galaxy

Wow, and Sunshine managed that on a much smaller user base of Gamecubes too.

What does this tell us about the current Wii market?

What does this tell us about Mario Galaxy?

Will Galaxy pull it back lifetime?

I guess the Japanese are fools for not buying the games I want them to buy.

I think it was mostly because sunshine was a launch title and everyone was excited to see what the "nexgen" mario game after mario 64 was going to be like. I dont know whats going on with Galaxy in Japan, I guess the markets changed quite a bit in 5 years. Zelda TP didnt do so great either in japan.

I bet it would have sold better if it was Mario Hent nah i better not go there

Too bad sunshine wasn't a launch title. The Japanese don't want it because of the U R MR GAY thing. The is the only logically explanation I can think of.

"Why isn't samus in a mario kart game?"

Er, Mario Galaxy is a really great game. One of the best ever, in fact. Truly great games will sell no matter what because of word of mouth. Handholds seem to dominate the sales in Japan, so it may sell slowly but it will sell.

Mario Sunshine is a better game no matter what all you hype-loving idiots say.

japan has started to become a portable market, and for some reason 2d marios sell more then 3d there
