Who do you think will have the last laugh at the end of the HD console war??

One year selling advantage means a lot for HD console war,even for substandard product.

Without competitor for one whole year!!!I think that's exactly what Microsoft sacrificed the quality for.

But still PS3's been rising steadily acording to VGCHARTZ numbers,even got higher average sales per year than XBOX360,that says a lot for quality also.

Things are getting easier and easier for PS3 since its launch day IMO.

sony for there tenth yr. (even over the wii) sony finishes first after the others stop manufacturing. (the darkside will claim victory) haaaaaaaaaa! (evil laugh) cough cough cough.

Sony. They will stop producing the PS3 in 2016. Just like they stop producing the PS1 and PS2 10 years after they came out.

Sony will laugh, then Microsoft will laugh louder and finally Nintendo will laugh the loudest. Becauses they will get the last laugh.

I think Sony because they are far from stopping the PS3 manufacturing and sales. It will be 199$ and then 99$ later. I think they are also going to sell a lot as blu ray/blu ray 3D player and casual game in the future. Im not sure it will surpass the Wii but I think it will easily surpass 360 unless Natal has more impact than I think of. So to be safe, anything can happen, but I tend to think its PS3 that have the best future out of the 3 right now.

What factors make you think Microsoft will sale more 360 lifetime than PS3?

Because I cannot tell what the effect the respective price cuts/motion controllers will do in the market this year predicting which will be ahead is useless. However I don't need that information to know who will be smiling the most about this generation.

It doesn't matter anymore if Sony sells more LTD than Microsoft. I doubt that they will care too much if the PS3 ends up more than 15M LTD ahead of the Xbox 360. They would have more than doubled their LTD sales of the Xbox 1, they would have dragged their E+D out of the red and its very possible that they would have broken even on the financial years encompassing this console generation.

I understand what you mean now, Microsoft have a great gen whatever they finish before or after Sony, I agree. That wasnt what the OP was asking tho. At least I understand your post now.

i think that nintendo will continue to kick but until it is replaced but i recon by the end of the gen if the ps3 continues going up and up in sales it will end up with a ahigjer overall sales number. as for the box i think its begining to show its age. e.g. dvd just isnt good enough for hd games anymore. this isnt 1995 game should only be on one disks. 2 at absalute max
