so my friend's birthday is comming up and i'm plannin on getting him a new game for his ps3 since he just got one and all he has is gow3.  i was looking for something in the $20-$30 range and narrowed it to Tekken 6, Blazblue, AC2, or Arkham Asylum but i'm still not sure what to get him.  He likes fighting games but i heard Tekken 6 was dissapointing and an updated blazblues going to come out soon.  and then theres AC2 and Arkham Asylum, both pretty similar AAA games with the same exact metacritic score, the problem is i'm not really sure if he'll play AC2 (he's really picky when it comes to video games for some reason) and i heard a goty Arkham Asylums going to come out.  So what you u guys think i should get him, or is there a good game i missed thats between $20-$30?

If he likes fighting games get Super Street Fighter 4 - to be released end of this month.

Go with Batman Arkhum Asylum, its definitely one of the best games of last year.

AC2 is a bit of a cache-22 for me, while apprecaite the massive improvements over AC, I still feel that the whole concept of the games story is flawed and the gameplay is not quite what it should be in my mind.

tekken 6 all the way,,,people who bash T6 are the one's who have never tried it.

Arkham Asylum if you really are a good friend.

Second... if you have such limitations from "it may release a GOTY edition", why not buy him older games? I assume this is his only HD console, so you have plenty of great games to choose from... (or get him the GoW collections since he has 3 :p)

Batman AA > Blazblue > Tekken 6 > Assassins Creed

There's nothing wrong with Tekken 6, it's a good game it's just Blazblue is a new IP so it'd probably be more interesting. If he's picky as you say he'll probably see Assassins Creed 2 for what it really is, horribly linear, with a crazily dull story and flawed gameplay mechanics.

Batman AA is close to a perfect game. It's got a fighting mechanic, stealth, platforming, exploration and puzzles. Each of which have a lot more depth to them than what Assassins Creed offers. The stories a lot better too.

If he's known to be a big Tekken fan (as in follows the series) get him Tekken. If not, if you just want to get him a fighter. Blazblue is definitely the best on the market right now. If you decide to go for a more action adventure-type game then Batman AA is definitely the way to go for a unique, engaging experience.

AC2 all the way. Trust me.

if he doesn't lie SF4 art he is not gonna like blaze blue art either.
