Has there ever been a specific game that has made you buy a console you didnt plan on getting before or buy a console earlier than you had planned because of a specific game.

For me i bought most my consoles because of it being the successor and for the game lineup in general. However i did buy a gameboy color for Pokemon Red, when before hand i had no interest at all in the thing.

Also if it wasnt for Resistance: Fall of man i probably wouldnt have bought the PS3 on its first day, because besides that there were no other games of interest.

So has this happened to you?

As a bonus question, what games do you own that if it was on a system you didnt already have would make you buy that console, if MGS4 was exclusive on Xbox 360 i would probably have bought one, same with GTA4 and possibly FF13.

If a FF7 remake came out exclusivley on the Xbox 360 id end up buying one just for that game.

No, never. I require feeling that there needs to be enough games to justify the console price (and entertainment center space) before I will get it. Most systems do eventually hit this point, but one game in particular will never sell me on a system unless it's sub-$20.

No.. thats kind of a waist of money don't you think? i usually buy my next gen console a year later after it releases.. because the library will be good by then

X360: Online Multiplayer in general, Xbox Live Arcade Exclusives (Pac-Man: CE, Geometry Wars 2, etc.)

i bought a PS1 for Final Fantasy 7 and it remained my only game for it.

gamecube - next...everything, pikmin first tho.

ps3 - mgs4, still the best game ever made. also the most polished.
