Ever purchase a game SO BAD that you couldn't finish it?

If YES, explain: 188 89.95%

Nope. 21 10.05%

Total:209

F.E.A.R was poor, it was so buggy and confusing I just gave up, the plot made no sense and the online sucked!

MAG was craptastic! once you have played with 265 people, it just becomes a novelty and then you realise how lacking the game was in graphics, weaponry and content, I even got to level 17 so nobody can say I didn't give it a chance!

Farcry 2, I know some people like this game and I will give it some merit, but the game just wasn't for me, the world was too vast for me to get the quests done and all the weapons were too hard to get!

Halo 3, didn't stand up to what people had told me about it, I am a fanboy but I will play any game generally without any bias, I am a console fanboy if that makes sense.
When playing Halo (I was actually in a tournament believe it or not), I found myself thinking "How is this different to Unreal Tournament or Red Faction 2?" and then it occurred to me that it was pretty much the continuation of that genre but refined somewhat, but to be honest, what I liked about games like Red Faction 2 and Time Splitters was the fact that they were different from what was available at the time, now that Halo is a bit of a benchmark, it has no appeal to me........and Master Chief is the most bland character EVER!

For me it was MGS4. It's an okay game but I just couldn't get into it. Oh and if you haven't played any previous MGS games just ignore MGS4. You can't play it without prior knowledge of the series.

I'm someone who has really picky tastes in games, but MGS4 was my first MGS game I've played-and I actually beaten that game (of course it was on medium difficulty still).

To be fair I probably didn't give it a good enough chance. I think I tried playing it for maybe a week then gave up and went back to Oblivion or Resistance (whatever I was playing at the time).

I liked the draw system

You and a good many other people.  It killed the entire experience for me.  Ive tried the game, 5 times now? And it is the only main FF I cannot finish. (sides XI but that doesnt count) Think I have quit on disc 2 each time.  Guarding/Drawing for multiple rounds of a boss who casts doom just so you can get 100 dooms = a waste of time.

Nope not really.

From this gen:

Batman: Arkham Asylum. I didn't necessarily HATE the game, it's just that its environment and atmosphere simply wasn't my type.

Far Cry 2. WTF IS THIS SHIT?

My condolences to your wife, to get 900 GS she must of endured a lot,

I asume the 100 GS missing would be from completing all the Quest line for the lady at the starting to give the completion of all quest log.

I salute your wife ( RESPECT)

lol yeah it was the recipe one.

Also, no I don't feel you have to go back and beat every game you own but you should make it a priority if your going to spend full price or near full price on the game. Why pay $60 if your not going to beat it (outside of multiplayer) for a game that will drop $30 or $20 in a few months?

I didn't list my NES, entire XBox, and my endless GB/GBA/GBC games but theres tons of games I didn't beat on those systems (I even got n-gage games for $2 or less each awhile back) that I'll probably never beat, but are cool to own and look back on.

It's just that simple.

Conversely, sometimes I buy a game and it turns out good. I saw "Cold Stone Creamery: Scoop it up" at work for for 15 dollars. I thought to myself, "This has got to be the worst game since Anubis II. I MUST play this." Got it home and was surprised to find a fun little casual sim. It is not perfect, but is on par with the 10 - 15 dollar wiiware I have played.

Biggest one that comes to mind for me was Wild Arms 4. what a pile of garbage that was, didn't give it a fair chance to be honest i played it for less than a hour but once i got to the introduction of that hexagon battle system i was fairly upset. I can't remember clearly why it was so bad, i remember that like the girl was in the locked room and you had to find the key and it was a pain in the ass, once you got her it was just lame. i dunno didn't seem like a wild arms game to me.

Pretty much every JRPG has fallen in this category, especially those 360 exclusive ones that were TOTAL dogs.

Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant, Infinate Undiscovery (a VERY special OMGTHATGAMEBLOWS for that one), Enchanted Arms

Come to think of it I haven't played a good JRPG this gen (and yes I've played FFXIII which I also haven't finished after getting to chapter 11 or so, I reiterate I haven't played a good JRPG this gen).

Well there was Disgaea 3, Valkariya Chronicles, Demon Souls, Yakuza 3, as well as Persona 3 and 4 and I really liked all of them. But to be fair they aren't really next gen JRPGs (2 are strategy, 2 are action and 2 are PS2 games which came out after this gen started)

Thank god for WRPGs like Dragon Age and Mass Effect 1/2 or I'd lose hope in the RPG genre.
