Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why the videogame industry is DOMED!

Apparently, in my prior thread regarding GT5 bombing, I had stumbled into a much more ominous trend with the videogame industry.  You can see the thread here:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=106604

I had pointed out that GT5 has no post-preorder sales AT THIS TIME, and then was asking why it bombed.  Well, apparently that happened to cause myself to be seen in a bad light, and it was brought to my attention that the likes of  Halo Reach is in the same boat.  So, shoot, if we are seeing top titles like Gran Turismo 5 and Halo Reach bombing BEFORE the even hit the shelves, due to lack of post-preorder sales, then this isn't good.  And, I look even further, and EVERY SINGLE GAME set to come out has this exact same condition.  And not only that, but also new consoles.  It is VERY troubling that we have ZERO sales of the 3DS at this point, and Move and Natal haven't had any sales either.  I am also particularly troubled we may NEVER see a product called "Natal" on the shelves either.

So, on this note, I can only conclude the entire videogame industry is DOMED!  And yes, I mean DOMED!  This is worse than DOOMED!  When you are DOMED, you are like Springfield in the Simpsons movie:

It means trapped in a bubble with no hope of escape.  This means that not only is the industry going down, but fans of it are stuck, and can't get out to find other things to do.  Yes, everyone here is DOMED!

Cool! No more aliens can invade so no more aliens shooters.

I like being Domed. :)

Pixel Art can be fun.

Ummm,I disagree on the grounds that escape from the bubble will come when the game/item is released and some mook will probably buy it.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Better to be with the enemies you know, than the enemies you don't.

Actually, games are not a way out of the DOME, because all games stay IN the DOME.  Thus, to get out of the DOME, you would have to be able to find something not game related.  And since stuff like Wii Fit, which happens to offer a glimmer of hope of getting out of the DOME are shuned here, it is hard pressed to say there is any way out.  Yes, everyone here and the game industry as a whole is DOMED!

You need to be told now. This isnt funny. Its not big and its not clever.

Move/Natal aren't games and by your logic are not Domed.

I do agree.  The fact the videogame industry is domed is VERY tragic!

If they are embraced by gamers, then they become games and are domed.  If they aren't, then they are outside the dome.  The videogame industry is still domed.

Wii Fit isn't shunned, as you can see by sales, people out there like it, hell even GT gave it a 7/10
