Forums - General Discussion - How would you remake a videogame adaptation of your choice? (Trying again)

I hope basically rewriting a thread that's already been brought up doesn't count as a form of thread duplication.  If it does, well I've earned my first ban, I just wanted to try and see if this was a subject some people could try and contribute to.  I only brought this back up because I only got one response that didn't really fit with the subject.  Well let's try this again.

So let's say you were given the chance to do a remake of a movie adapted from a video game with the attempts of making it at the very least a half-decent movie.  Mind you, this is based on a question of if you could do a remake of any of the game franchises that have already been attempted.  What choices would you make, would you keep anything from the original film?

My choice would be Wing Commander.  Could make for a cool space saga if done right.

What I'd change:
Upscale the visuals and special effects via a bigger budget.
Make the visuals consistent with the games.
Hire a WAY better cast.
Find a good script writer.
Remove the Pilgrim substory.
Make the story explain the origins of the war with the Kilwrathi.

What I'd keep:
The music. (Practically the only redeeming factor really)

Your choice?

They should remake Goldeneye.

Updates:

- Needs way better controls. The N64 controller was bad for shooters. Also make look inversion optional, not mandatory.
- Graphics. Maybe just boost it up to 720p or something.
- Online play

Keep everything else the same. Basically if it had better controls, updated graphics and online play it would be perfect.
