Seriously?

Why hate on any developers game just because of one fan, its rather sad.  If you think that was negative then perhaps you should have been in some of the Forza threads when they ALL got trolled to death by GT fans.  The difference is most of the 360 community who like Forza will not be petty enough to come in GT threads and ruin them because its pointless. 

No chance. GT: PSP exists.

Also, even if it is the lowest main entry, it'll easily surpass most of the games that come out this year, so I don't think anyone will be disappointed by that.

What The Fu** ist this?!
GT5:P alone almost sold 5 Million on a userbase (launch) of about 10-12 million, and its widely considered as a demo for 40$ (now less of course)
GT3 sold almost 15 Million on a 13 Million userbase (launch)

And these are the things GT5 has:
- Online
- Nascar
- Damage
- 5 Years since a "real" Gran Turismo
- No pirating to deal with
- a much bigger userbase than the best selling GT (13 vs. ~38 million)

Things that are going against GT:
- more racing games, but only one good selling one (Racesim) which isnt on the PS3 (Forza 3)
- GTs name was harmed due to GT:PSP

IMO: 10 Million is a give
15 million is a possibility if the final product doesnt dissapoint (has to be 90+)

No but it will most likely hit 10 million.

The thing is we have to wait around 5 years to see if it's a failure or not. GT sales increase very slow but consistent through some years.

there have been alot of good arguments why it will and why it will not; mostly based along console lines. i say games like halo, modern warfare, and mario sell based on name recognition and i include gran turismo in this group...these franchises dont care about the competition.

before christmas there were tons of people saying a 2d mario game wouldnt be huge that 2d platformers were dead well mario sold and is still selling
modern warfare 2 is constantly bashed by the core fps base as being inferior to other shooters well, it sold and its still selling
anyone think halo reach is going to be the best fps on the market when it releases well, it doesnt matter its going sell
gran turismo is the most recognized racing brand in the world and it doesnt matter if it turns out to be worse than (insert fanboy choice) its going sale more because of its name recognition or if you prefer on par with previous gran turismo game sales

FW : 2 - 3 Mill

Lifetime : 10 - 12 Mill

So, no it won't be the lowest selling GT game.

I think it will still hit 10+ million over It's life time.

GT PSP will be the worst selling in the series.

GT 5 will not sell like Halo, COD and etc. In it's first month or so. Any Logical poster here knows that so I am expecting it now that the time GT 5 launch and GT and didn't reach HALO, COD and etc. numbers in its first few months it will be deemed as a failure, a flop, a lot of doom and gloom threads will pop-out and whatever.

OT: GT is big and a lot of posters here is underestimating it and small user base is a non factor now. PS3 user base is kinda big now.
