I took a look at bladestorm and it looks pretty cool. I've seen it in the cheap section at my local store too, I think I'll pick that and Strikeforce.

Thats not Dynasty Warriors really. DW2-6 all revolve around 1 guy/girl killing hundreds of enemies and changing the tide of battle while completing objectives.

Bladestorm you lead armys to do it for you, it's like the jrpg version of DW.

Strikeforce is a cheap cash in on the monster hunter franchise on PsP and just got ported to the Ps3.

IMO get DW4 or 3 are the best on Ps2, this gen get DW6

I disagree Empires is the way to go. FAR more fun, I mean the 2 best games in the series are 3 and 5 anyway. Sadly he isn't going for this gen.

Maybe you can answer my question. I asked a Gamestop employee and he said that Dw6 = hack n slash DW6 empires = turn based rpgish game? I was never able to find the difference between empires

Empires is the better game, the REAL game is always hack n slash. It just has some Risk-esque flavors added to it. He must of taken some shrooms when he played Empires since he obviously played a different game.

I'd recommend Dynasty Warriors 5 but unfortunately that's previous gen, not current gen. But if you really want to try a current gen DW, DW6 is probably your choice. It has the core elements. DW6: Empires isn't too bad either but it lacks the story element. Strikeforce seems to change a lot, though I'm not sure if that's entirely bad. It just doesn't give a very good idea of what the series is about. As for DW: Gundam... Well, too different. However, what really sucked me into the series (aside from gameplay) is story, and they've changed it for worse this gen. I'd really go for DW5 if possible.

Zkuq DW 6 is a rip off, you don't feel like playing with anyone due to only like 12 guys with stories(although Lu Bu did have a fun one). Empires is the way to go this gen, Strikeforce is a NO you do NOT want that. You can make 100 custom characters in DW empires too!

I HATED the new Renbu system from DW6 so I do not recommend it as a starting point. The renbu system works like a frentic kill-fest incentive. The more you kill enemies, the more the renbu bar fills up. It goes up to 4 level, 1-3 and infinity ( I think or it could be 5!). Each level correspond to the number of additional attack a character can chain in a button mashing combo.

The only problem here is that the renbu bar drains naturally whenever you're not killing and running around from objective A-B could nerf your character in the most fustrating way as you arrive on site B with only 2 renbu bar.

Get empire, it has significant improvement through the inclusion of some Turn-base Strategy as well as an improve renbu system where the attacks are now linked to the weapon itself and you don't have to worry about the renbu bar steadily dropping when not in combat.

All Dynasty is very good!!!

I've bought Dynasty Warriors 6 and Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires. It is to many hours of fun. Tha game is amazing and dificult. I like so much!

Sooo I'll pick up Strikeforce and Empires 6.

I'll probably still pick up Bladestorm cause I saw some gameplay and it did look pretty interesting.

Question, since I'm pretty insistent on getting Strikeforce, which version should I get, PSP or PS3? Are they identical aside graphical differences?

strikeforce on ps360 got new character, online coop and that's it. if you don't care about coop i would go with psp version of the game since you can get it for 10$ and it's great pick up & play title.
i would consider also getting Warriors Orochi 2(or just it since it's a massive game) for psp since it is basically ultimate version of Warriors games this gen.
- 100 characters from Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and few exclusive characters,
- buttload of game modes(even a fighting game with lots of additional modes),
- weapon upgrades and fusion mode,
- 5 different story modes,
- Dream mode with 40 additional stages,
- sidequests,

and it's like 15$ now - for that amount of content it's a steal.

dynasty warriors 4. One of my favourite games, EVER!

I play PC and PS3. The best of both worlds.

If you like gundams get Gundam.

If you like Romance of the 3 kingdoms or might like Chinese history get DW6.

Don't get SW Katana.

SW2 is good if you like Nobunaga's ambition. ( I think that's for 360.)

Avoid DW Musou games... they are a crossover between DW and SW and are better played after you've played both.
