like all the others game, right ?

or is it real time for others games ?

whatever, from a player perspective, it doesnt change much ...

Some games have real time (God of War 3, Killzone 2) and some games have prerendered (Uncharted 2), the only difference is that UC2 is untouched, while Alan Wake is using higher poly models and after effects.

^^sums it all up.

Actually, many cutscenes in U2 are real-time rendered in-engine because the game uses the same highly detailed models all the time. But very often when the game uses video-recorded cutscenes the assets are still the same, but there's quite a lot of added postprocessing/lighting/particles.

I'd say that it's very similar to what AW does, only with much more realtime, which ND can afford given the incredible models and animation system they put in place.

I thought this would be standard actually.

As long as he looks good in those cutscenes. He's a sexy beast of a man. I wonder if there are any shirtless scenes in this game.

Anyways... Hopefully those videos aren't compressed to shit, like FFXIII. Sqaure, you cheap bastards!

Took the words out of my mouth.

*edit* anybody who wants to know which cutscenes in Uncharted 2 are pre-rendered, look at the ones that you can view after you beat the game in the cinematic viewer.  Tell me if they look exactly the same as the other cutscenes or if they look a smidge better.  Alan Wake isn't doing anything that other graphical powerhouses didn't do.  It's no big deal.

All this video fit on one DVD?

no what?

Uncharted 2 does do it, did you not know that?

What's bad about it? is what I want to know..

I mean does it make the game worse? nope, sure doesn't

According to certain posters on this site, this still counts as real-time graphics, but watch how the standards change.
