meh. we shouldn't be affected by their irrelevant comparisons. Don't dignify their claims by extremely reacting to the graph. we all know it doesn't affect the REAL gamers. not someone who plays farmville and claims that he is a gamer.

Someone who plays farmville is a gamer. Their money is just as green as yours.

No, you are wrong.

Gamer isn't someone who spends money on gaming (plenty of gamers are pirates) but someone who calls gaming a hobby, and maybe even a part of his life.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Totally agree, the iphone/touch as a gaming device blows the ds/psp out the water hence why i sold my ds and psp.

Please drop the "real gamer"/"true gamer" crap. A gamer is just a person who plays games. It doesn't need to be some exclusive counter-cultural club. If gaming is to be a healthy, sustainable business it needs to be mainstream, we don't need people who think gaming belongs to them holding it back.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Many people who play farmville probably fit that profile.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Since when? That's just a definition created to be exclusive. There's no reason to exclude people who game just because you don't think they game enough. Personally I can't wait for the word "gamer" to be as redundant as the phrase "movie watcher".

Not the pepole refered to as "someone who plays Farmville", thus my point stands.

(And out of... 80+ million now? it's pretty easy to find "many" who would fit my description)

I don't think they are yet, but don't be surprised if they made a videogame console in the future.

I'm buying an iphone soon I might delay buying it till this new thing is out

Okay. will you call someone who plays Soliatre (is that how you write it?) for one hour every month a gamer, or not?

hahahahaha online gaming on iPhone. I can barely see what's happening on my small ass screen and can't do much without physical buttons but this is so much fun!
