this thread is a joke right?

It wasn´t back then but now it really is.

Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

Now, game retailers aren't doing it for charity. The profit on one unit of Wii Fit isn't going to be much different from the profit on one unit of, say, Mario Galaxy. Now, given the choice between selling 20 copies of Mario Galaxy, and 1 unit of Wii Fit, which do you think they are going to opt for?

Obviously Wii Fit, because your other thread is suggesting that Mario Galaxy doesn't sell well anyway.

This thread.

hanafuda may have not many posts, but the threads he starts are usually entertaining when looking back at them a few weeks/months later.

Haha. His posting history is a gold mine:

I found this one:

" The Wii honeymoon is over in Japan.

Sales of the hardware are down week over week.

Why?

Three reasons.

1)

The Wii user base is all over the place, and Nintendo (and to some extent, third parties) don't know what to do about it.

2)

Too few games, and what is being released is either too shallow, doesn't fit the user base (Fire Emblem), or is just plain old crud. Certainly nothing resembling a killer app.

3)

Wii Sports. We've seen it. We've played it. Next please.

Super Paper Mario will give the system a boost for a few weeks, but I predict that will be short-term. After that? Well, looks at the release schedule and judge for yourselves."

with all the ninty hype going around it kinda made people think well me to be honest that this game would sell really well, but sorry it has done crap in my opinion.

this game is going to flop and shrivle like an old grannies tit on a hot summers day.

and before all of you vampires start attacking me this is in comparison to other high profile wii games

obieslut you are truly one of a kind. When a thread gets revived to make fun of idiotic predictions you are supposed to laugh at them. You don't join them after they were proven wrong.

Even relative to other high profile wii games wiifit will most definitely be a big hit.

It sold 2 million in Japan, where they don't even have fat people.  You expect it to sell less in America, where everybody's fat?

This game has already sold out of pre-orders at every major U.S. retailer I can think of.  And Nintendo's confirmed they've shipped at least a million for the U.S. launch.

So what magical information do you possess that makes you think Nintendo is lying about the shipment and every major U.S. retailer is lying about selling out of pre-orders and that the first week will be any less than a million?

This game will outsell Mario Kart within a month or 2, and even faster if they ship enough.

Aaaawww I wanted to be to one to reply to obieslut but you beat me to it azrm2k. Better luck next time I guess.

Signature goes here!

Pretty much everyone is wrong here...it should overtake Wii Sports in Japan as the top Wii game in Japan by the end of the year.

I like how a number of the same people who doubted Wii Fit doubt Wii Sports Resort which is a direct sequel.

Also, Mario Galaxy is over 1 million in Japan.

What does that tell you? That WSR might pull in Wii fit numbers? Also will M+ outsell entire platforms much like Wii fit is about to do?

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

I'll be honest, if I guessed back then, I'dve not seen this much success either. But yeah, some of those numbers are horribly low.
