Forums - Gaming Discussion - Worst FF13 battle

What is the battle that you consider the biggest pain in the ass? Mine was that damn Dahaka and everything with Barthandelus.

Yeah the fight with just Sazh and Vanille was annoying.

Biggest pain in the ass? Hmmm, probably the Neochu fights, without using the Death trick on them. Other than them, mission 62 with the two Ratjavikias is probably the hardest fight in the whole game, being that it can't be done with any cheap method.

Story bosses aren't hard per se, with the exception of maybe Brynhildr (I got her only at the last 5 seconds of Doom) and probably Cid (I had a bad Paradigm preparation going to the fight on the first time). Other than them, bosses were relatively easy.

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

First Eidolon, the characters were just so damn weak. Solved it by using sprays though. Barthandelus was a pain as well, spent 95% of the time healing and buffing (or should I say rebuffing...).

i agree the Neochu's are too difficult without death, luckily i never have to fight them again :D however i can't beat the Ratjavikias, Multicast is just too powerful when they both cast it at the same time.

The most annoying one i have had was the Attacus battle, took so long i got bored a bit.

Barthandelus so far, I actually am on a "break" from the game at the moment due to him. Really, a doom counter?

The Cid fight was pretty brutal. Due to lack of time, I have not had much time to play far into Chap 11 yet or any of the side missions.

Are you on the first or second fight?

Definitely Mission 64. *mild spoilers?* Being able to go into an invulnerable cocoon, heal 100k every 2 seconds while in the cocoon, and add four buffs to himself is bad, but then this fire tornado move is just plain over the top. 5 starred him though, with a little luck.

I didn't find him all that hard. Took me two tries, first time because I didn't catch all the targets...but Lighting / Sahz / Vanille was my combo for that fight. Used paradigm com / syn / med to get buffed; com / rvg / med to build damage and heal and during the last part of the fight I just flat out used tri disaster and switched to com / rvg / rvg and switched to heal when necessary. If you can build the stagger guage quick enough during that fight you can cancel his super attack.
