That's even assuming we'll be using physical media at all in 10 years.


that would be cool if nintendo could implement something like that.

And also expensive as hell right now. The Nintendo won't be using it, that is fairly certain but perhaps a future one. By that time, others will probably also be implementing similar tech in their consoles.

Note: I don't own a Wii.

It uses an extended version of the miniDVD technology that allowed them to use it without paying royalties.  They both work differently from DVDs.
