IF Nintendo decide to release the game for both DS and 3DS, then that may mean 3DS isn't as powerful as recent speculation has led us to believe. After all, it doesn't really make sense to release a 2D SNES-like DS game like Pokémon as a launch title for a new system that might (apparently) be about as powerful as a GameCube.
Wouldn't really be a wise thing to do, if you want to show off the new system's power and features.

And if it's basically the same game, but with added 3D effects on 3DS, that'd be kind of meh, and wouldn't really offer much incentive to buy a whole new system, I'd think.
Personally, I highly doubt this will be a 3DS launch title, but we'll have to wait and see I guess. You never know with Ninty.

That would make sense if the 4th gen PKMN games took advantage of the system's abilities more. But they don't. There's still easily a lot more than can be done with the DS hardware for the Pokemon games.

So...? That means you agree this'll be a DS game, and not a 3DS launch title, then.

No, it means I think they can upgrade it graphically a hefty amount and do a G/S with it - making it compatible with the DS but enhanced on the 3DS - and NOT seem like it was held back tremendously BY that move.

Too bad I'm not interested in Pokemon anymore. Even I have to admit they're milking it too much. But hey, if they happen to alter the gameplay somehow, I'll jump back onboard.

But hey, hopefully they'll make it a launch title for the 3DS.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Discovering how to properly EV train is the best thing to ever happen to me with playing Pokemon. Once I get bored with that, I'm going to start picking up breeding for natures and hunting for good IVs.

Saying they need to change the gameplay is admitting you haven't gotten deep enough INTO the gameplay yet, to be completely honest.

I did all that in Emerald, and continued to do all that in Diamond/Pearl.

Even when I tried to convince myself I was doing that for a good purpose and had myself a crazy good team of overpowered Pokemon (which I do), it still was just a massive time sink.  What's the point in spending countless hours breeding, EV training and perfecting Pokemon just so that they come out with a new version of Pokemon a year later so you need to play another 60 hour game and transfer all your Pokemon over, balance your team again and possibly change 1-2 new Pokemon on your team again (many more hours of Breeding and EV training....)?

They've done this twice in the last 2 years (Pokemon Platinum and Heart Gold/Soul Silver) and now are planning to do it again with Pokemon 5th Gen.  Frankly, I don't have the time or patience to keep up all this breeding/EV training.  And no one else I know is playing Pokemon anymore so there's no point.

I'd be better off going out and riding a real bike.

they could pull a pokemon mystery dungeon esque thing?

I bet it's going to be called Pokemon: Aquamarine

Seriously, soon they are going to have to call it wierd things like that, since there's not a whole lot of common colors/minerals that they haven't already used...

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

We better get more Dragons this time around, and not weird bird dragons that are attached to clouds.

That date is always marked down for me anyway, it's my mother's birthday, if I ever forgot I'd get a long nagging phone call lol.

This as a 3DS launch title would pretty overshadow any hypothetical PSP2 launch...

Its true, but everything sounds so wear , they will not show a game before the console ...

Again i think they will just show the Pokémons to be in the game and not the game itself , makes no sense ...
