Its the week before Christmas and the Xbox 360 has 12 titles in the top 40 vs 6 titles for the PS3. This does support the userbase argument.

That's fair enough, as I said I don't trust console sales for install bases considering the failure rates of the 360. Game sales figures give a much better look at what consoles people have and what consoles people are buying software for.

All consoles have a failure rate and all consoles have a certain % of people who are disinterested after purchase for whatever reason. In addition to this they all have a product life-cycle. If the Xbox 360 is a year ahead on average then the people purchasing software are going to be a year ahead in terms of growing disinterest in purchasing new titles.

Same pretty much in America, so you completely see red straight away and don't understand the purpose of this thread.

The 360 is VERY cheap in the UK though.. and almost half the price of the ps3 or am I wrong?

Hold up, lemme check.... (goes online)

(Plays Halo 3, gets a +4 K/D spread and gets called a "Fat American"  twice)

Seems like it is sometimes....

Huh I've never been called a "Fat American"

The only anti-american statement that i got was when i was playing halo 3 and ripped some kids in half (went +20 i belive) and I got called a "stupid American fuck"

no chance, deffo the usa/america's.

*20 million 360s sold in USA. 4 million 360s sold sold in the UK.
USA = 300 million people. UK = 60 million people.
It is a close race, in regards to 360s sold per capita in both of those nations.

*2 million 360s sold in Canada and other American nations excluded.

Britain is hammered with 360 advertisment as well as the prices. Quite annoys me actually, every advert break I see....

Modern Warfare 2 - Only on xbox 360 (they say stimuluspackagenow... Only on xbox 360, really fast)
FFXIII - Xbox 360
Prince of persia - Xbox360
GTA 4 - xbox 360
Xbox live - Everyones doing it (very clever ad actually, I like it)

Basically any game that's out has a 360 ad, like you can't get the game on anything else. Every advert break more or less has an xbox360 advert on.

I've see maybe one PS3 advert per 15 xbox 360 adverts.

lol wait wha? How the hell did you come up with that theory? :D Growing disinterest for a certain product over a products life cycle is true. But it does not effect the new software. For example, disinterest for xbox360 can be argued as true by some, IF it has reached the maturity stage of the cycle or furthure down....but demand for new games should not be affected by it, simply because they are NEW products that has nothing o do with the other product cycles. Demand for MW2 will diminish as time goes but that has nothing to do with the platforms. That argument is flawed.
