I knew all of that. I was merely using the ordinary general-public terms and not trying to talk for an eternity about it.
One thing you missed about plasmas vs LCDs is that LCDs typically offer far longer operational lifetimes. Granted, plasma tech has improved greatly over the past few years and this really isn't that big of a deal anymore, but when they first came out, plasma displays sometimes lasted heavy users less than two years.
