Ubisoft Employee Lists Splinter Cell: Conviction for PS3!

Forums - Sony Discussion - Ubisoft Employee Lists Splinter Cell: Conviction for PS3!

The prospect of Splinter Cell: Conviction on the PS3 has been a hot topic ever since it was announced. After the last round of rumors were debunked, we expected it to be the end of the chatter about the game coming to the PS3. However, a recent finding on LinkedIn offers a glimmer of hope for Splinter Cell: Conviction sneaking onto the PS3.

Marc Demers, lead software engineer at Ubisoft Montréal, has listed Splinter Cell: Conviction for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, on his LinkedIn account.

Many titles have been incorrectly listed for the wrong platforms before, and at this point there is nothing to indicate otherwise. However, considering this employee at Ubisoft worked on Splinter Cell: Conviction perhaps he knows more then the marketing camp does. With the exception of portable platforms Sam Fisher has always appeared on all major platforms. Perhaps this will turn out to be a uber double secret timed exclusive and PlayStation 3 owners will get to play Sam Fisher’s latest adventure, eventually.

Thanks Kendrick for the tip!

[UPDATE] Marc Demers has removed the PS3 platform for Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Looks like it just might be a timed exclusive after all.

Thoughts?

Really 2 days back i have posted same thing that i strongly believe that conviction is just time exclusive they are palying their cards same as like Rockstar played for GTA liberty city stories.

Splinter Cell May Come To PS3

Splinter Cell Conviction’s creative director, Ubisoft Montreal’s Max Beland, has told Edge that there is a possibility that future series outings could appear on multiple console platforms.

Ubisoft currently has a Splinter Cell exclusivity deal with Microsoft that ends with SC Conviction, so when asked whether the Splinter Cell franchise may have a future on PS3, Beland said:

I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I’m not involved in the business deals. I joined Splinter Cell after the exclusivity deal with Microsoft had already been signed, but there’s no reason why Splinter Cell couldn’t be on the PS3. Conviction? No because of the exclusivity deal. I know people keep talking about maybe, maybe not, [but] at Ubisoft Montreal I haven’t seen anyone working on PS3 for Conviction.

[The next game] is open to new deals, If Microsoft wants an exclusivity deal, they don’t call me, it’s Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] dealing with the business people. But yeah, I guess we could even be a PS3 exclusive if there’s a deal that makes people happy there.

If that isn't enough proof to tell that its a paid contract then god help us all.

But like I said I would rather have more Assasins creed than this, for me Conviction is rather low on my want list.

Could be timed exclusivity. Could be a typo. Both have been very common to listings like the ones in the OP.
