Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Greenberg: PS3 Browser 'An Absolute Nightmare', No Future 360 Web Surfing

I would love to know what he likes about the PS3, he is allways spewing poison on anything not Xbox, so his statement has little value.

In this instance everyone agrees. It's like using your phone for internet. It's a bumbling shocking mess. Apps are the way to go. Both Apple and M$ realised this years ago.

The 360 doesn't do Apps, and the iPhone has a pretty good browser... so I don't really see a reason to mix Apple with MS here.

Even though I understand Microsoft's motivation for trying to force you to buy a god awful media center PC to do a lot of the things the PS3 can do without any PC assistance, I still say no browser and limited functionality is a dick move.

All that to say that Microsoft is forcing to you buy a media centre PC? Oh dear!

The PS3 browser is useless next to a laptop and the majority of PCs sold nowadays are laptops so wheres the benefit again?

Tease.

Still handy at times to have in the living room when my wife uses the laptop. I have that little wireless keypad/mouse extension device.

VGChartz does suck on the webbrowser though, most other sites I visit are fine.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Yes, I think the PS3 browser is far from great. I heard rumours of FF being considered.

I don't agree with Greenburg that browsing on a TV is a bad thing. It's a good thing IF you were allowed relatively easy connectivity of a remote keyboard/mouse.

One big limiter for the 360 for internet browsing is the MS policy of not allowing a standard USB KB/M to be attached. So a browser would cause all sorts of dilemma's for the 360, at present.

You mean it's useless the way the 360 is useless next to a PC which plays the same games but better ?

Ok, now I see what you mean.

I agree that the 360 is fine without an internet browser, but the PS3 browser is not really a nightmare, it works just fine.

Ouch! head shot right there.

its much better than sbox 360'S browser

just get a wireless keypad and everything is fine. with keypad you can quickly type and scroll. I just wish the buttons on the keypad can glow so i can see what i'm typing in the dark.
