Forums - Sony Discussion - I know why the ending of God of War 2 was so frustratingly awful!

It is not that hard dude, see the little symbol on the screen? Press that same little symbol on the controller.

If you think this QuickTimeEvents are hard, you sure didn't fight Krauser in Hard Mode.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Oh hey, twestern made a post! Oh hey, it's another anti-Sony diatribe!

1) It's spelt Ares.

2) Those QTEs weren't difficult in the slightest. Please don't ever play Heavy Rain; you'll probably jump out of a window.

God of War II has an awful story so the ending was dumb as well.

OT: You must consider that you plain suck at games Twesterm. Both final bosses were so easy that I consider them pushovers. The QTEs are second nature is there anything that doesn't annoy you?

lolwut ?

GoW II's story was better imo... Maybe you're just mad because it isn't a cheesy emo-fest JRPG.

GoW II's story was a better representation of Greek Mythology..

Huh I'm not a JRPG fan >_>

God of War had a great story and I actually felt like I had a purpose... GOW II was just Kratos being fucking stupid and I thought he deserved to die. Clearly the game was made with only part 1 in mind and they tacked on the rest! You can even tell they had nothing interesting to reveal like the first game through the CGI. It was like Kratos just randomly facing off against characters from Greek Mythology.

I agree with this. God of War had a real story. God of War II had a series of vague dialogue sequences to make some sense of the awesome combat scenes and adventuring. God of War III, once again, had a story.

Must you find some insignificant annoyance in everything Sony related and make a huge deal out of it?

I actually enjoy QTE's

Keep away from Heavy Rain xD

He's already played it and shockingly enough, didn't bitch about them in it too much.

He did complain about other stuff in it, but that's another thread.

Heavy Rain is actually an example of how to do QTE's well.  They give you enough time to do them in, they don't make the prompts really fast and random, and the prompts appear where the action already is.

you call that frusturating! some simple button combination? beat the game on titan! then you have the right to call it frustrating(excluding the QTE's)

That corridor before fightign Clotho is still horse poop.

I beat it, but I'll never play God of War II on Titan again.

To tell you the truth, that part was actually fun for me.  I hated the long gauntlet fights in the first game because there were so many of them but since that was really the only one in the second game, I enjoyed it.

Yes?

If that was an issue, please stay away from Heavy Rain. Some of the fight sequences in there would give you pages to right about. I never had a problem with any GoW, no did I with the formentioned HR sequences. However considering that the Heavy Rain ones are faster, and seem like they last a couple of minute at times, I just think you should avoid it.

In Titan Mode it's the most frustrating segment in an action game I've played in several years. I'm a guy who likes hard gamees, but that was ridiculous.

You saw the thing I said above, yes? Concerning the change to the final battle dynamics in the third game.

Yup, sorry meant to reply, I've had three cups of coffee and two diet cokes and doing 20 things today so my minds a little all over the place...

Anyways, curse your avatar change again since it always makes me miss stuff (I sometimes skim stuff when there are a lot of replies after coming to a thread and sometimes ignore people I don't recognize >_>) and I do like the sound of that.  It's not that I think the God of War games are bad anymore, there were just a lot of frustrations and typically wasn't due to the game itself being hard, it was due to terrible game mechanics.

Anyways, going to play the third eventually and even looking forward to it (even though I still think Kratos is lame), just not anytime soon.

Yeah, take that break. Give yourself time to digest the first two, come to the third after enough time that it will be relatively fresh.

And I change my avatar more than almost anybody on this forum, I don't see how that could be unexpected
