Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 60gig B/C surviving owners

Huh. Funny timing. Looks like I now have the flashing red lights of death or it's just overheated. It turned itself off twice, I'll leave it for a while then try again.

Edit: turns out it's YLOD. Looks like I'll be picking up a 250GB on Monday. Only problem is that MAG is stuck in the YLOD'd PS3...I was able to turn it on for a few seconds after the first time it switched off, I should have used that window of opportunity to eject the disc.

I got my on December 15th, 2006, 60 gog for $600 bucks, yes it still works and gets played quite often. Actually, it did not play GTAIV when it first came out and Sony replace for free, still.

I got mine on ebay about a year after it came out for $170. Some guy was getting HDD errors and didnt know how to fix it. I added a 120 gig to it and it worked fine. Hasent bricked yet but I dont really use it except for PS2 games so I dont think it gets the stress that a Uncharted/Killzone level game would put the cell through.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

60gb

Changed the Harddrive to a 320gb

December 2006

Still works great.

January 2008(or 7...I can't remember), PAL BC 60Gb, it must have cost $650 or so.
Still going strong. I renounced leaving it on for long periods of time (that is over the night) after I read here of the problems some people had with them.

I have a Japanese 60GB B/C Model that I got back in December 2006 I upgraded it with a 500GB HDD in January 2009.

It works perfect no problems I only use it for Games Because it is B/C I play a lot of Japanese PS Games and Japanese PS2 Games on it and watch Anime DVD/BLU-RAY on it.

Japanese Pop Culture Otaku

I got my 60gb in June 2007 for 600$. I typically play FFXI, but god forbid I play ps3 games on it. Textures and graphics completely died out, lines and blur spots all over the screen. For some reason GoW3 has no issues on it though. Thankfully I got a slim for xmas =D

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Australian launch ,  $1200 with 2 games, but i traded in 40 old ps2 games for it and  its still going strong.
