Ok, this is kind of how you use Sword and Shield.

Whenever your getting in on the target like Aria does, you block incomings, it kills your stamina but that regens on its own.

The next thing is go for the tail, if you don't have a great sword guy working on it, your the guy that cuts it off just as fast.

Sword and shielders don't go for the head, their attacks are too wild, thats what Aria did though and she kept hitting the guy with the hammer stopping him from doing any real damage since hammers are about 8x stronger than sword and shields.

Also make sure your sword is poison or paralyze, both work great on wyvrens that love to run.

In Monster Hunter the creation of weapons have trees as you build into a tree; say poison then you will keep making poison weapons better unless you start a new weapon.

Each upgraded weapon is a totally new weapon, just that it also is part of a group of weapons that would recieve that element.

Most importantly notice the control of the camera, it's always trained on the monster.

Even though you have a shield dodging is always better than blocking for swords and shielders, it's not about how much you defend but how much you attack. Remember to keep your weapon sharp also.

What? No one posted the ads, which I think are some of the most hilarious video-game ads in recent times. Blasphemy!

I haven't been following much of the news recently. But what happened to the European demo?
Release is three weeks away.

Demos where only for the US, Capcom acknowledge that MH is more popular in the EU then the US as the series sells more over here and has increasing popularity so instead of demos we're getting exclusive bundles.

Well, I'm trying to make the first page a HUB for all the information that I can.

The OP has all the refferences to medias and a general idea of the game.

The 2nd post I'm hoping to make it like the OP but more specific and a strong refference point.

The 3rd one is kind of undecided.

But I haven't put any info up for EU because I'm either just in the dark or there is no info yet.

Any link to MH being more popular and selling more as a series in EU than US? (I looked in vgchartz and didn't see any indication in the numbers).

My take is that US is getting the demo because that is a Capcom marketing strategy and EU is getting the special bundles because that is a Nintendo marketing strategy. (Capcom is the publisher in the US, Nintendo in EU).

Both are Nintendo marketing strategies as they're publishing the game after all Capcom would never market it in the west this vigourously trust me having followed the series since MH1 what you see now is only because of Nintendo pushing things, I'll try and dig up the link but here was a quote back in January on MH3 and Europe.

Capcom on the launch of Monster Hunter 3 in Europe…

“Monster Hunter has always performed reasonably well in Europe on PSP, even if it is light years ahead scores in Japan. There is a very strong desire for Capcom to make a permanent license in the West. Since it is a title that lends itself to multiplayer gaming, the Wii is adapted. It is, moreover, a title that can easily pass from the universe “gamer” to the general public. So yes, our ambitions are very high, but we’re still in the estimates. It’s hard to give you a precise figure, given the high elasticity of sales with marketing campaigns for the Wii.”

So there is no demo for us? Missed chance... though the bundles didn't seem bad when they were announced.
