Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Red Steel 2 or: How I learned to love motion controls!

you should have played The Godfather: Blackhand edition years ago.

oh, and I'll probably pick this up after Galaxy once I get my $20 gift card. I don't have the money right now.

Yeah, Godfather was the game to me that proved Motion worked for action games (I am counting the pointer separate), I remember I made a thread about how bad ass it felt to choke someone or hit them with a baseball bat in that game.

The game had a lot of other flaws, but the motion was visceral and fun.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Take the whipping like a man and stop complaining like little girls.

... sounds like it's a good time to get a wireless chuk.

If Red Steel 2 fails to pass a million in sales then I believe all hope is lost for another sequel and 3rd parties to bring core titles to Wii.

I sure hope piracy isn't as widespread as I think it is.

Ubisoft expected 500k for success, why would below 1M be a failure?

I am not really interested in the Wii and it's games but I kept seeing advertisement for this game and I didn't know what it was. Then I started thinking it was Red Steel but I don't know much about the franchise. This game looks cool. I wont be getting a Wii for it but it looks awesome. I hope it comes out on Move but if not maybe I'll find someone that has it some day and borrow it from them(along with their Wii :D)

It won't pass a million, it will even take its time passing 500k, but all the 3rd parties who are not going to bring core titles to the Wii hava already decided not to do it before this anyway.

Also, unfortunately piracy probably IS as widespread as you think it is, lots of people got to play this game before it even came out.

This is what I have been waiting for! This is the game that defines motion controls for me, it's not a slight improvement over anything before, it's not something that might as well have been played on any other platform and it's not a minigame collection! It is a full game, filled with traditional gaming values (a 'core' game, so to speak) that is absolutely exclusive to motion controls, and it is awesome!

There was a game before this one for me. I recommend you play Godfather Blackhand Edition for the Wii. The title might have some flaws (incredibly, they messed up the pointing and shooting part... it's not something easy to mess up on the wii), but the motion controls for close combat were amazing. The first wii game I played and what got me hooked on the wii.

I thought the same as you. Something that could not have been done before as a slight improvement and not a minigame collection.

So I've heard, and I'm certainly looking more into it now than I was earlier, but I'm still on edge as I was never a fan of GTA-styled games.
