Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Is the Xbox 360 getting the respect it deserves?

IMO it gets way too much for being the most unreliable console, maybe even electronic device, ever in history. It should've not even be allowed to produce and sell a device with so many flaws like the 360. And they even get away with it...

I think I've explained this half a dozen times, but I'll go again.

It's called first impressions. Microsoft made a really bad first impression with the Xbox. They provided a bulky, fairly ugly box without a whole lot of notable exclusive games (there were a lot of smaller, high quality exclusive games, but those didn't get as much attention). Sure, Nintendo screwed up even more last generation, but they also were a notable brand name with decades of history in the console space (as well as having the ultra-successful Game Boy Advance). Microsoft's first chance to prove themselves in the console space was a colossal failure.

The fact that they've managed to recover this much and be so successful shows a lot of respect for the 360 (maybe even more than it deserves). Again, it's a vague question, so you can't really say.

microsoft's resilence in its xbox deserves my respect, if there were no 360 most of us would be ass raped with the 600 price tag sony wanted.

If vgc has taught me anything , it is this.....

With the ultra slick , uber line up the ps3 has with MGS4 , U2 and GoW3......how can really respect MS with that kind of line up their competition has?

And also , EVERY 360 game has a much better counterpart on the ps3 (KZ2>Halo 3 , GT5> Forza 3)

if Killzone2 is better why has it only sold just above 2 million & Halo3 has sold nearly 11 million .& why put GT5 as being better than Forza 3 its not even out yet. Fanboy

Each console has their strong points for respect:

Xbox 360 has its respect as it invented console online gaming, which PSN is still playing catch up. A lot of people won't jump ship to PS3 simply because their friends are all on Live.

Wii of course revolution the way people play games and attract a large crowds of non-gamers into buying gaming consoles, Sony and M$ used to laugh at motion gaming and now they keep their mouth shut and jump in the waggle battle.

PS3 on the other hand is the most value for money console, it comes with the most advance features (Blue-ray and Cell) and has games with best graphics hands down.

So all hail the 3!!!

Xbox 360 did in no way invent console online gaming. Neither did the Xbox. They might've done it best, but they were in no way first.

BUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

sorry I had to do it

the downfall of this generation gamer, you really honestly think the ps3 wouldn't have come down in price if their was no 360......................*facepalm* dude, major *facepalm*

and the real sad thing is your not alone, there are tons of people who honestly think that.

Wow. This thread is unsurprisingly full of fanwank.

Quite frankly the X360 is a good edging on great console. Although, I still prefer the PS3. There's no particular reasons except maybe that the online is free and I simply have not been as interested in the X360's exclusives (aside from Mass Effect 1 & 2).

the price tag for the ps3 would have stay the same for a longer time, i'm not saying it wouldnt come down, fact is anyone who wanted one at time got raped. i mean look, how do you respect a company that tried to play you $600 for a device that they know you really wanted but knows you prabably cant afford it and instead of trying to make it affortable they tell you to get a second job, ken actually said this while smiling, whats sad is you smiled back lol
