I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as niggers, is in fact, Afrcan Americans/niggers, or as I've recently taken to calling them, Afrcan Americans plus niggers. Niggers is not an race unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Afrcan Americans system made useful by the Afrcan American community.

I say let's demand Rockstar at least try to make a 3D GTA game for the DS (since Cop the Recruit shows the system can handle it), and then we will see for sure.

You can justify the weak sales however you want. Yeah GTA has never been on Nintendo before. I guarantee if they put Super Mario Galaxy on Ps3 or 360 it would sell millions, it wouldn't matter that Mario has never been on Sony or Nintendo.
And yeah you're probably right, the lack of competition helped GTA LCS sales on PSP just like being a launch title helped Resistance FoM sell really well. But you know what competitition GTA did have on PSP? Yep, you guessed it. PIRACY. How many millions of copies do you think have been downloaded illegally?

We are comparing games made 10 years ago to prove points.
The DS version is one of the GTA ever made, it was designed for it, and was well reviewed compared to those old GTA games you guys bring up.
Second, it as well advertised, even South PARK had an episode on it.
Now, NO ONE brought up the whole top down issue, Everyone expected this game to sell on par with the PSP versions of GTA. We had threads on how it was going to dominate during the holidays.
Now, one million is always a big thing, but for certain franchises, the expectations are more.
If FFVSXIII sells just one million, the same people defending this would be the same making threads on how disappointed they are with the sales.
How quiclkly some of you forget:
LBP, Killzone 2, GT PSP ( that was a big one)
Guess what, they all have sold over 1 million.

Your point seems to be that critically acclaimed games should sell well. That is simply not the case. There are plenty examples of critical darlings that don't do well commercially. That is true for all mediums.

"version" means a port or multiplatform release. This is an original game, which often gets good reveiws. See Mario Kart DS, Final Fantasy III and IV (those were enhanced remakes, which are changed enough to be almost like new), Contra 4.
Again, the critical acclaim doesn't matter if most of the audience doesn't want it. Movie buffs have known that for years.

Anyway,this has dragged on for long enough and i've even had hate mail... The simple fact is, it has sold subpar for a GTA game. Fact. You can't argue this. The following quote puts it perfectly...

I personally am not. My argument is that the reason for it is a combination of being top-down, having an atypical style to the realistic style of the 3D games, and having a feel that doesn't fit the action/mayhem that made the series a top-tier franchise.

That isn't what you think it is. Flop is defined by losing money, not by relative sales. Too Human is a flop, but we know how much that game cost to make.
